Zoning Administrator - LCC Telecom Services (Rosemont)

Who: LCC Telecom Services provides site acquisition services for the telecommunications industry. They have leased, zoned and permitted thousands of sites nationwide and are seeking a zoning administrator to start ASAP.

What: The job description is that of a zoning administrator in the wireless industry. We review zoning codes and maps, make recommendation to various wireless providers as to the abilities to erect towers in a given location. Once a site is chosen it is the zoning administrator’s responsibility to put together the application materials, make presentations to local governing bodies and then pull all of the necessary permits.

Transportation Planner (Entry-level) - Whitehouse Group (Fort Lauderdale)

Who: Whitehouse Group provides advanced analytics to transportation and infrastructure agencies. Primary services include transportation planning, traffic engineering, resource management, environmental programs, and behavioral science.

Program Manager - The Center for Urban Pedagogy (New York City)

By collaborating directly with communities to create accessible and visual explanations on issues important to them, CUP provides individuals with the tools to claim their rights, advocate for their needs, and fight for social justice.

What: Program Manager CUP is seeking a full-time Program Manager to work on our Community Education programs. Community Education programs are collaborations of CUP staff; visual thinkers, like artists and graphic designers; and people working in communities, like organizers, service providers, and other advocates.

The Program Manager will oversee our Public Access Design program and collaborate on other Community Education programs, including Making Policy Public and Envisioning Development Toolkits. Public Access Design is an effort to support quick-turnaround collaborations of CUP, designers, and advocates to produce timely tools for community organizing, while supporting the development of designers who want to engage in community-driven work. Geospatial Analyst - GreenInfo Network (Oakland, CA)

What: We are hiring a new Geospatial Analyst to join our GIS team, which represents about half of our staff. The work we do is collaborative, fun, challenging, and always committed to the public good. GreenInfo's clients are passionate about fair elections, equity in park access, public health, and land conservation, to name a few.

Interactive Project Manager – GreenInfo Network (Oakland, CA)

Who: GreenInfo Network is a 22-year old, Oakland-based nonprofit that works for 80-100 public interest groups annually, helping them with a wide range of interactive, analysis, and print cartography projects. We’re widely known for the quality of what we do and the positive relationships we maintain with our clients. Our team is small and very experienced, about a dozen people, mostly based in Oakland’s Uptown neighborhood, but also with off-site staff in Oregon, Washington, and Vermont. You'll work with clients ranging from government agencies to national nonprofits to small land trusts and advocacy groups. You'll run projects that last anywhere from a few weeks to more than a year.

All our work is in the public interest, covering a huge variety of topics and locations. You'll collaborate with clients like these:

Here's what you'll do:

Planner - The City of Oxford, Ohio

Who: The City of Oxford, Ohio, Department of Community Development. With a population around 25,000 Oxford is located in southwest Ohio separated from, but near the Cincinnati and Dayton metro areas. As home of Miami University, Forbes Magazine recently rated Oxford the #1 best college town in America. We are part of the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Council of Governments Metropolitan Planning Organization which also serves to aid us in transportation planning and funding. The City of Oxford and Ohio are politically diverse, which creates a climate requiring a high degree of tact and diplomacy to implement public policy decisions.

What: The City of Oxford is accepting applications for the Classified position of Planner who reports to the Community Development Director. The individual in this position provides technical and professional services to assist the Community Development Director, City Manager, residents, Boards and Commissions, and City Council in matters relating to planning, zoning, building and housing. Who: Through its grantmaking and participation in Chicago’s civic and cultural life, The Richard H. Project Coordinator - The City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development

Project Manager - University of Illinois Academic Computing and Communications Center

What: The University of Illinois, ACCC seeks a Project Manager, PMO. This position manage the definition, design, and implementation of medium to large scale projects; manage all aspects of project life cycle to facilitate delivery of key business processes. Assistant Planners/Analysts - Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (Closes 9/29)

Who: The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is seeking to hire full-time employees at the Assistant level in the Local Planning Department, with an emphasis on long range planning, research and analysis, economic development and market analysis, or municipal/county government.

What: CMAP seeks Assistants to be part of a large department and provide technical and professional support of CMAP’s long-range comprehensive regional planning, the Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program, and research, data analysis, and mapping work to contribute to the agency’s long-range and local planning efforts. Planning projects may include comprehensive plans, corridor or subarea plans, zoning revisions, studies of special topics such as housing or economic development, and similar planning activities. Rental Assistance Demonstration Analyst – Chicago Housing Authority

Who: Chicago Housing Authority

What: CHA is currently looking for Program Analyst that would play an indispensable role in the implementation of HUD's Rental Assistance Demonstration program, supporting our efforts to transition a significant portion of our public housing assets to Section 8 project-based voucher funding and leverage new sources of funding for property repairs. This position allows the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple facets of the public housing industry, to interact with both residents and multiple CHA departments and to work on the cutting edge of public housing and affordable housing preservation. Of note, the RAD program is directed by 2003 CUPPA alum and Senior Director Jewell Walton.

The RAD Program Analyst will assist a specific portfolio of HUD Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) projects ensuring they successfully achieve each step throughout the process to transition from traditional public housing to project-based voucher-funded projects. Director of Development - Cure Violence Global (Chicago)

Who: Cure Violence Global (CVG) is a new start-up NGO, and led by Gary Slutkin, M.D., former head of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Intervention Development Unit, and Professor of Epidemiology and International Health at the University of Illinois / Chicago School of Public Health.
Cure Violence is a teaching, training, research and assessment organization focused on a health approach to violence prevention. The Cure Violence health model is used by more than 50 communities in the U.S., as well as countries ranging from El Salvador to South Africa to Syria.
