Facilitate networks of community organizations, local businesses, civic leaders, non-profits, local governments, public agencies, faith-based institutions, and other local entities to educate and inform residents, and promote positive benefits resulting from an accurate 2020 Census count.

What: The Old Town Merchants and Residents Association is a 501(c)(6) community organization that functions simultaneously as a chamber of commerce and residential association in the Old Town neighborhood. Notable events organized by the Association include the Wells Street Art Festival, Live Well Week, A Night Out in Old Town and regular social events. OTMRA is recognized as a delegate agency of the City of Chicago and Sole Service Provider of SSA #48.

Who: Advocates for Urban Agriculture
What: Advocates for Urban Agriculture (AUA), a 501 c 3 organization, was founded in 2002 and is a coalition of individuals, organizations and businesses working to support and expand sustainable agriculture in the greater Chicago area, from home and community-based growing to market gardens and small farms.AUA’s mission is to empower urban growers to foster thriving communities through sustainable agriculture and equitable food systems.
AUA envisions a flourishing food system that promotes sustainable food growing in the Chicago area as an integral part of community economic development, food security & sovereignty, environmental sustainability, and overall quality of life for the region, and in which practitioners, organizations, and residents can reap the benefits.
AUA‘s Board and staff work in concert with AUA’s 2,300 plus members, partner organizations and businesses and local government in multiple ways. These include education and information sharing about good agricultural and business practices, participation in the development of progressive city and county policies that support urban farming and land access, and support for state legislation pursuant to these goals and values.
Sustainable food growing in the greater Chicago area is deeply rooted, robust and growing. So too is AUA. As Chicago’s hub for urban agriculture, AUA is increasingly recognized by Chicago’s food-system funders and government agencies as an important collective voice and effective partner in forging sound local food policies and related regulations. And now, upon a foundation of more than fifteen years, AUAis preparing the plans to expand its efforts with the goal of helping Chicago build an even more vigorous and sustainable food system.
AUA’s Executive Director is a key player in the pursuit of this goal.
The AUA Board is seeking an individual with superior leadership skills and the knowledge, enthusiasm,energy, insight and commitment to fill this position and help lead both AUA and Chicago urban agriculture well into the future. Management Analyst - Village of Riverside
Who: Village of Riverside
What: The Village of Riverside (pop. 8,900) is located just 9 miles from downtown Chicago and is a National Historic Landmark community designed by visionary landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted. The Village is seeking qualified applicants for the position of a full-time Management Analyst. This position assists the Community Development Director in the economic development, administration and current-planning related functions of the Village as well as ongoing administration of the Village’s codes, ordinances and policies relative to economic development, planning/zoning and preservation. The position is specifically responsible for managing/overseeing the building permit process, preparing reports of building permit activity and providing information to the public and building community regarding building and zoning code procedures and requirements. This position is also responsible for assisting the Community Development Director with zoning, economic development and preservation related issues. This position will serve as the primary Staff Liaison to the Economic Development Commission and assisting with the various commissions the department serves; attendance at Economic Development Commission meetings will be required and other Commission and Board meetings as needed. This position also manages the department and related commission’s webpages and social media channels as well as the village’s social media channels generally. This position maintains efficient and effective processes in the Community Development Department while providing excellent customer service to developers, contractors, property owners, business owners and the general public. This position will assist with other Administration projects as assigned.

What: Acts as the CTA liaison between the Department of Revenue (DOR), the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) and any other required agencies, to coordinate, communicate and facilitate all permits to occupy and open the public right-of-way (ROW) to ensure that CTA construction and maintenance projects are properly coordinated to minimize impacts to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Provides general administrative support to the General Manager of Construction.
