Transportation Planner - Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC)

Planning Analyst - Metra

Who: Metra is one of the largest and most complex commuter rail systems in North America, serving Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kane, and McHenry Counties. The agency is linking communities in Northeastern Illinois by providing safe, reliable, and efficient commuter service.

What: Reporting directly to the Department Head, Long Range Planning, the Planning Analyst will serve as lead Metra representative in various station area planning studies. Perform planning activities in support of Metra's strategic planning efforts and other regional, corridor, and station planning studies of the Metra rail system including planning for major capital expansion projects. Participates in and executes elements of commuter rail planning studies. Research various proposals, initiatives, and regulatory guidelines. Planner - Village of Huntley, IL

Who: Village of Huntley, IL, Development Services Department

What: This position performs professional, technical, and administrative work related to new developments in the Village. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing varied services and assignments related to zoning administration, site plan review, project management, long-range planning, and code enforcement. The position requires strong customer service and excellent communication skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Strong writing skills and attention to detail required.

Who: Whitehouse Group provides advanced analytics to transportation and infrastructure agencies. Primary services include transportation planning, traffic engineering, resource management, environmental programs, and behavioral science.

What: Whitehouse Group is seeking an Entry-level Transportation Planner with at least a masters degree in urban planning or a related field. This individual will produce deliverables in systems and corridor planning; long-range plans and implementation programs; statewide and regional policies and evaluations; and economic analyses.

Assistant Planners/Analysts - Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (Closes 9/29)

Who: The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is seeking to hire full-time employees at the Assistant level in the Local Planning Department, with an emphasis on long range planning, research and analysis, economic development and market analysis, or municipal/county government.

What: CMAP seeks Assistants to be part of a large department and provide technical and professional support of CMAP’s long-range comprehensive regional planning, the Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program, and research, data analysis, and mapping work to contribute to the agency’s long-range and local planning efforts. Planning projects may include comprehensive plans, corridor or subarea plans, zoning revisions, studies of special topics such as housing or economic development, and similar planning activities. Research and Analysis projects may include GIS mapping, data processing, quantitative spatial analyses, and the development and documentation of new business intelligence tools and products, and methodologies for quantitative analysis.

Assistants are primarily expected to perform technical work researching, analyzing and writing technical planning documents and supporting public planning projects and initiatives, and related work. Assistants may also be asked to contribute to other CMAP activities, including but not limited to the implementation of ON TO 2050, as well as the agency’s general activities in policy, programming, and planning. Work is typically performed under the close supervision of a Planning Principal. Planner II – Strategic Long Range Planning (Chattanooga, TN)

Who: The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency (RPA) provides planning services for Chattanooga-Hamilton County in Tennessee, and portions of North Georgia, a region celebrated for its innovation in urban revitalization, public-private partnerships, and citizen-led planning.  The Regional Planning Agency houses the regional Metropolitan Planning Organization and integrates the agency’s transportation and land use planning functions to promote a more holistic and coordinated planning approach.

What: The Planner II is responsible for providing professional expertise in all aspects of the planning and development process, including policy formulation, neighborhood planning, transportation planning, land use and redevelopment.  Duties include developing long-range plans to comply with federal guidelines; administering local zoning; conducting research and analyses; and performing long-range projects related to neighborhood planning, transportation planning, land use and urban redevelopment. Assistant City Planer (Elmhurst, IL)

Who: City of Elmhurst, Illinois

What: This position is a responsible administrative position involved in assisting in the preparation and administration of long-range planning, land development, rezoning, subdivision and other land use issues. The major purpose of the Assistant City Planner is to support and assist the City Planner in administering the City’s land use regulation program by providing focused attention and specialized expertise. This includes assisting the City Planner in the administration and enforcement of the City’s general zoning ordinance and other related ordinances; Staff liaison to the Development, Planning and Zoning Committee and Zoning & Planning Commission and additional meetings held outside normal business hours. Part-Time Neighborhood Planner (Mt. Prospect)

Who: Village of Mount Prospect - Community Development Department - Planning & Zoning Division

What: The position’s main responsibilities include administration and oversight of the Village’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which includes compliance, financial management, coordination of housing rehabilitation projects, sub-recipient monitoring, contract administration, preparation of plans and reports, and Village approval of reports necessary to administer the CDBG funds. What: Provides professional assistance for a range of urban planning, transportation, land use, and related activities.
