ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Digital Excellence Program Manager is responsible for management, coordination and implementation of the key strategies identified in the Digital Excellence planning process as they pertain to the Humboldt Park New Communities Program (NCP) and the Humboldt Park Quality-of-Life Plan. This position interacts with multiple local and city partners to coordinate implementation of all aspects of the Digital Excellence program. In all instances the Digital Excellence Program Manager must perform in accordance with and be committed to the Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage and coordinate the implementation of all facets of the strategies identified in the Humboldt Park Digital Excellence planning process, with particular attention to the Humboldt Hub portal.

2. Take the lead in creating and maintaining the Humboldt Park NCP website to fulfill Digital Excellence and HP Quality of Life Plan strategies and objectives around vision, access, timeliness, utility, technical application, and interactivity.

3. Work in collaboration with the NCP Program Director, NCP Outreach Worker, and/or Bickerdike staff to create, maintain, and update content for the NCP website.

4. Act in an advisory capacity, in collaboration with Bickerdike staff, to ensure that Bickerdike’s electronic and communications efforts complement the objectives of the Humboldt Park NCP and the Digital Excellence program, particularly around vision, access, timeliness, utility, technical application, and interactivity of websites.

5. Work in collaboration with the Bickerdike Communications Coordinator to help coordinate community-related electronic communications pertaining to NCP activities.

6. Coordinate and generate content on behalf of NCP’s initiatives for internal and external distribution, including articles for electronic or print newsletters, LISC’s central NCP website, and other community websites and media.

7. Build and maintain key relationships with local partners, including community technology centers, schools, libraries, community organizations, and all other points of digital access in the neighborhood to facilitate meeting the goals of the Digital Excellence program for Humboldt Park.

8. Build and maintain key relationships with corporate technology partners engaged in the Digital Excellence program to facilitate meeting the goals of the program for Humboldt Park.

9. Leverage new opportunities and/or resources that may come into the community toward Digital Excellence strategies and objectives.

10. Manage continuing cooperation and work of all partners in the local Digital Excellence project through convening and staffing of regular meetings.

11. Oversee and play a role in efforts to ensure the phasing and implementation of the project, and recommend adjustments when warranted.

12.Identify and implement opportunities for new programs and collaborations within the local Digital Excellence effort.

13. Create and maintain a regular communications schedule with regard to NCP programs and activities, and in collaboration with appropriate staff, targeting key content for distribution via web-based and electronic media as appropriate.

14. Serve as a point person for LISC’s team of scribes.

15. Represent the local Digital Excellence project at meetings.

16. Oversee program funding disbursements and report on financial activities related to the project.

17. Prepare written reports on local Digital Excellence activities documenting the impact of the project’s effectiveness.

18. Generate partners' commitment to new priorities and implementation efforts related to the project.

19. Engage as an active part of the NCP staffing team, assist with NCP related administrative support, as required.

20. Work with consultants and other nonprofit organizations on program implementation as appropriate.

21. Collaborate with other organizations and staff engaged in Digital Excellence program citywide.

22. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree is required; with degree in community development or a technology-related field preferred. At least 5 years experience working in a community-based organization or in a relevant technology-related position. A proven track record in program implementation required as well as strong project management skills. The demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams in a diverse setting a must. Excellent writing and oral presentation skills. Strong computer skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. Bilingual Spanish-English written and verbal skills preferred.

4. Create, maintain and implement a regular communications plan on behalf of all Bickerdike organizational initiatives in collaboration with appropriate staff, targeting key content for distribution via web-based, electronic and print media on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.

5. Generate original content and coordinate content creation among Bickerdike program staff for internal and external distribution, including articles for Bickerdike’s print and electronic media, as well as print and electronic media of Bickerdike’s community and industry partners.

6. Assist in writing, editing and placement of content for publication in industry media including such publications as Shelterforce, National Low Income Housing Coalition’s Memo to Members, and the LISC NCP newsletter.

7. Work in collaboration with the NCP Digital Excellence Program Manager to play a role in coordinating community-related electronic communications.

8. Assist with Bickerdike’s fundraising efforts, including but not limited to proposal writing and donor cultivation.

9. Support Bickerdike’s public relations efforts, including the writing and circulation of press releases and advertising.

10. Ensure accurate Spanish translation of content as appropriate.

11. Assist with administrative and program tasks related to Bickerdike including but not limited to meeting preparations, event support, contact-list updates, filing/organization, and mailings.

12. Staff and/or support assigned Bickerdike committees and teams and/or projects including information gathering and distribution, outreach support, minute taking, reporting, coordination, and follow-up to ensure successful implementation.

13. Maintain record keeping information systems related to Bickerdike and/or other efforts as appropriate.

14. Attend and participate in city-wide communications and policy forums, committees, community meetings, and public events as required.

15. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: BA or equivalent relevant experience required. Superior writing and oral presentation skills. Computer knowledge necessary including familiarity with web-based communications and desktop publishing software. Program administrative experience desired. Must be willing to work flexible hours. The Diversity Programs and Education Specialist (DPES) reports to and
works under the supervision of the Assistant Chancellor and Campus Diversity Office - Staff and Students. The DPES has primary responsibility for all education, programming, outreach, and training programs designed to promote diversity and build an inclusive campus
climate. The DPES plans, coordinates, and delivers diversity, inclusion and EEO/AA themed training.

In response to education programs, the incumbent may hear reports on a variety of issues and must be able to assist individuals making reports with appropriate interventions, make referrals and provide information about campus policies, Principles of Community and campus procedures. The DPES must be able to assess needs and plan education and training programs accordingly.

In addition, the DPES will disseminate information on the UC Policy on Sexual Harassment, the UCSC Policy on Sexual Assault, and issues of sex discrimination within the university community. These programs and materials will be offered to academic and staff employees, student employees and graduate and undergraduate students. The DPES has responsibility for presenting, implementing, tracking and/or facilitating sexual harassment prevention training and other programs mandated by the UC Office of the President, and state and federal law.

In addition to education, programming, and training related duties, the DPES is responsible for drafting departmental communications, EEO/AA and Title IX website development and maintenance, and other special projects as assigned.

Qualifications include:

- Strong and effective presentation and training skills and ability to prepare, organize and present education programs to individuals and groups.

- Demonstrated skill in presenting complex and emotionally charged material in understandable and usable ways. Knowledge of current issues in teaching effectiveness including methodologies used in adult learning.

- Skill and sensitivity to interact with diverse constituencies of various ethnic, social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds in order to identify, investigate and facilitate
problem resolution and to educate members of the University community effectively.

- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in the development, implementation and evaluation of education programs which address the needs of a diverse population of students and academic and staff employees.

- Ability to recommend appropriate interventions, make referrals and provide information regarding campus policies, and procedures.

- Strong analytical, research and organizational skills. Ability to interpret policies and procedures.

Job Description:
The CENTER for ADVANCED DESIGN, RESEARCH and EXPLORATION, at the
University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a coordinator to provide
project management for multidisciplinary research programs. The
candidate will provide high-level project management support to the
Assistant Director of Research and affiliated researchers and business
managers. The coordinator will be responsible for fiscal and project
management oversight, act as a scientific liaison between CADRE staff,
researchers, contractors, and sponsor agencies. Further, the Program
Coordinator will assist senior staff allocate resources to help assure
successful completion of project deliverables. Further, the Program
Coordinator will investigate issues, consult key stakeholders on project
progress, and provide advice regarding options for action, as needed.
Job responsibilities include initiation, preparation, and approval of
purchases and other financial transactions for as well as the
compilation of technical reports for assigned sponsored programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree required, preferred fields of study include
engineering, biology, chemistry, or related field (Masters Degree
preferred). At least four years of project management, research
coordination, grant administration, or business operations required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
Candidate may need to secure appropriate US Government issued security
clearance; maintaining confidentiality and dealing with sensitive issues
are required.

Other Skills
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, the
ability to be flexible, learn new skills, and work well with external
agencies, other universities, and small businesses. Knowledge of grant
and contract administration from a scientific perspective is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities: The Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) is the budget and planning office of the Office of the Governor. It provides the Governor with policy-making assistance in determining strategic and tactical plans for state budget recommendations.
OPB reviews the annual operating budgets of agencies of the executive branch for compliance with appropriation and budget acts. Upon OPB approval of the annual operating budgets, agencies receive funds authorized in the appropriation act by quarterly submission of allotment requests. Allotment requests are reviewed by OPB for conformity with the operating budget and the appropriation and budget acts. Analysts further review agency budget activities through quarterly expenditure reports.
The Physical and Economic Development Division of OPB performs budget and policy analysis and planning for the Governor related to economic development and infrastructure, workforce development, and natural resources. The Physical and Economic Development Division assists in the development and monitoring of agency budgets and policies for executive and legislative review. In addition, the division analyzes laws proposed by the General Assembly and responds to inquiries from the general public, legislators, and state agencies.
This Policy Analyst will review and analyze budget, program, and policy issues for agencies assigned to the Physical and Economic Development Division. The position will be filled at the level appropriate to the experience and competencies of the selected candidate.
Minimum Training & Experience:

POLICY ANALYST 2
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Master’s degree in a course of study related to occupational field;
AND Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one year of experience or service at a level equivalent to Policy Analyst 1.

POLICY ANALYST 1
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a master's degree in a course of study related to occupational field;
AND Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with one year of experience or service at a level equivalent to Associate Policy Analyst.

ASSOCIATE POLICY ANALYST
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to occupational field;
AND Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
All levels require working level skill in the use of spreadsheet and word processing computer application software.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, or other field related to the area of assignment.
Experience in state government in a role that requires complex budget, program, and policy review and analysis.

Position available September 16, 2009 for Reimbursement and Compliance Specialist in the Department of Surgical Oncology to administer the Department's physicians' practice reimbursement and compliance activities. Position requires bachelor's degree with at least two year's experience and/or certification in coding. Must have in depth knowledge of Medicare compliance, understanding of insurance company reimbursement requirements/practices, and be highly skilled in coordination and follow-up on multiunit resolutions. Proven track record developing compliance policies and standards, overseeing and monitoring compliance activities, and achieving and maintaining compliance with Medicare, JCAHO, and other medical practice regulatory agencies preferred. Required proficiency in CPT/ICD-9 coding, and all other aspects of the billing process for the clinical science department preferred. Proficiency with University of Illinois policy and systems in hospital and WWT preferred.
This is a continuous, part time (70%), twelve month position.

American University's School of Public Affairs invites applications for a full-time, tenure-line faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in its Department of Public Administration and Policy. The position will begin in August 2010 and offers the unique professional, research, and professional development opportunities of a top-ranked department located in Washington, DC. A research agenda on topics such as health policy, health-related issues, environmental policy, and social policy with health-related implications is strongly preferred. The person hired will teach courses in our Master of Public Policy, Master of Public Administration, and PhD in Public Administration degree programs. Candidates must demonstrate a strong teaching interest in the policy process and a research focus in one or more of the following areas: policy process/analysis, public management, policy formation/implementation, program evaluation, and/or applied economic analysis. Strong preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate promise or evidence of excellent teaching, of consistently high quality research productivity in leading policy/public management/public administration publications, and of becoming leaders in their academic fields (s) of specialization. Ability to relate teaching and research interests to the consequences of policy choice and to the organizational, political, administrative, historical, and normative dimensions of public policy is expected. Candidates should have an earned PhD at the time of appointment, preferably in public policy, public health, public administration, political science, economics, or a related field.
