What: Under general supervision, the Project Coordinator position administers the year-round grant application process,and assists in the marketing of the program to businesses to promote job training programs for small and mid- sized Chicago companies that commit to training new and/or incumbent workers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Meets with prospective clients to provide an overview of the training grant and timeline
- Evaluates grant applications and monitors the submission process
- Facilitates the flow of legal documents, budget forms, Economic Disclosure Statement, Directs Recipient Agreement, and negotiates and finalizes scope of services
- Prepares all legal documents for finance/contracts unit to obtain a purchase order
- Reviews and processes monthly vouchers with internal departments
- Evaluates need to extensions, amendments, or modifications of grants
- Provides quarterly reports for internal and budget office requests
- Represents the unit by marketing the program to businesses and the general Chicago community
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field, supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in program administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
- A Master’s degree or higher in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or Social Sciences
- Previous experience successfully designing and/or implementing workforce development programs Proficiency working with GIS software, such as Esri ArcGIS
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office products
- Previous experience coordinating or administering grants programs
- Being comfortable presenting information in front of large groups of people
