programs to support high quality program services and meet funding
requirements.This position works in a team of other professionals in
supporting the use of program outcomes as a method for continuous
program improvement.***

REPORTS TO:*Manager of Community School Initiatives*
_ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES_:
·Manage the data collection processes for community school programs
including identifying data that is to be collected, data quality
assurance, documentation and ensuring agency-wide compliance with
meeting deadlines for data collection activities.Collected data includes
grades, test scores, teacher/student/parent surveys, program schedules,
day attendance, program staffing, partners, and student demographics.
·Organize and analyze data for use in grant compliance reporting, annual
written evaluation reports, and continuous program improvement.This
includes running reports from the CTK database, using SPSS, utilizing
school district data reports and excel spreadsheets.
·Compile, write, and design the annual evaluation reports, data
summaries that are useful to inform program staff, stakeholders and
funders on program outcomes, and provide programmatic information that
is supportive of obtaining additional program funding.
·Lead the programs observational site visit process including scheduling
site visits, revising the observation tool and ensuring report completion.
·Maintain the agency’s overall IRB (Institutional Review Board) status
and manage the agency’s data agreements with school districts (including
the CPS RRB).This includes insuring that every participant has a consent
for release of data form on file annually.
·Communicate regularly with agency staff/leadership, community partners,
and stakeholders professionally in writing and verbally to explain
evaluation processes, disseminate findings, make program recommendations
based on outcomes and support program improvement activities.
·Develop and revise evaluation tools as necessary to respond to changing
funding requirements and emerging best practices, including the use of
logic models, developing assessment rubrics and participatory evaluation
processes.
·Monitor progress towards program objectives and ensure that
programmatic activities are aligned with overall program objectives.
·Ensure that programs comply with grant requirements.
·Provide support for staff professional workshops and trainings.
·Will need to travel to sites and schools in the Chicago land area on a
regular basis, therefore a access to a personal vehicle is required.
_REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS_:
·Experience in developing program evaluations and implementing
evaluation processes; including identifying data to be collected,
designing systems to collect data (quantitative and qualitative),
ability to support staff in data collection procedures.
·Knowledge/experience in the community school model, youth development,
family support programs and experience with partner/school collaborations.
·Knowledge/experience in program design, program improvement, and
supporting the development of professional development opportunities
based on evaluation findings.
·Experience in statistical analysis including the use of databases (CTK,
PPICs) and SPSS.
·Ability to coordinate several different projects at one time, meet
multiple deadlines, manage work independently and respond data requests
with short turnaround times.
·Capacity to work in a highly organized manner with attention to detail
is a must due to the volume of data that is to collected and managed.
·Desire to support innovative processes, implement best practices and a
commitment to building and expanding professional skills to support this
position's responsibilities.
·Familiarity with and commitment to the goals and activities of the wide
range of Family Focus program areas including community schools, early
childhood.
·Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
·Ability to relate to a diverse group of people.
·Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel and use of the internet.
·A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and two years experience in evaluation
experience is required.

This is a mid-level planning position within the
Service Planning section of Strategic Services at Pace headquarters in
Arlington Heights, Illinois. Please note that this is a one-year
position only but may be renewed. Under the direction of the Section
Manager and Supervisor of Service Planning and guidance of senior staff,
plans and implements changes in fixed routes, community transit and
paratransit services operated by Pace garages and contractors. Analyzes
route performance data from Paces intelligent bus fleet such as on-time
performance and automatic passenger counting. Conducts field work to
review current service and plan new service and calculates costs of
service changes. Participates in Pace service restructuring initiatives
whereby current service is evaluated region by region by a
cross-functional team with the goal of adjusting service to increase
ridership, revenue and speed. Should be able to understand complex
issues and be good at problem solving and making appropriate
recommendations for implementation. Investigates service inquiries from
the public and attends public meetings when needed as well as being
outstationed at one or more Pace garages several days a month. On-
the-job training and mentoring by planning staff will assist the new

Qualifications:

Project
The Chicago Urban League is partnering with Chicago Transit Authority to
connect individuals to skills training and employment opportunities
related to the Upcoming Red Line Reconstruction Project.
The Urban League is conducting outreach, Commercial Driver’s License
Permit Training, and outreach to Disadvantaged Businesses (DBE).
Chicago Urban League is in need of an intern to assist with aforementioned
activities related to the project.
Duties include: Data entry, attendance at outreach activities, follow-up
with individuals interested in project related employment and contract
opportunities, other duties as needed to contribute to the success of the
project
Skills needed: Microsoft Office, keyboarding, ability to work autonomously
and in a team environment, ability to comfortably interface with the
public and provide good customer service, desire to work at a community
based organization

*Compensation:*
The Fellowship comes with a stipend of $1,500 per month. In addition, he or
she will receive six days of paid sick leave or vacation per six-month
Fellowship and will have paid leave on all federal holidays that occur
within the tenure at Smart Growth America.

The position is full-time, 40 hours a week. The position will begin
immediately and go through the end of December 2012. Offer to extend
Fellowship an additional six months is possible.

Affairs is a NASPAA-accredited, nationally-ranked, internationally-competitive program
offering a professional Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree, a Ph.D. in Public Policy
and Management and an Executive MPA degree. Faculty scholarship is vigorously
encouraged with the help of strong professional development activities and opportunities to
participate in research through our own and affiliated research centers. The successful
candidate will demonstrate promise or evidence of consistently high quality research
productivity and excellence in teaching and service.
Within the broad field of international policy and/or management, areas of interest in
teaching and research are open. These include but are not limited to: economic and social
development (including micro-level analysis of poverty and development issues);;
globalization, governance, and transnational issues;; comparative public policy;; security and
foreign policy;; and management of international NGOs. We welcome applications from
scholars with teaching and research expertise in substantive policy areas in which the Evans
School has strengths, such as environmental and natural resource policy, poverty and social
policy, education, urban affairs, public and nonprofit management, financial management,
decision analysis, and international development. The position is open with regard to
methodological focus. Methodologies of particular interest include impact evaluation and
experimental methods, mixed methods, GIS, spatial or network analysis, agent-based
models, or complex systems. Candidates should be able to contribute to core instruction in
public and nonprofit management, applied microeconomics, quantitative methods, policy
analysis, and/or program evaluation, in addition to capacity in a specific substantive policy
area.
The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for working in a multi-and
interdisciplinary environment that demands excellence in scholarship and teaching and
encourages engagement in important problems. Applicants should hold the Ph.D. or
equivalent in economics, political science, public policy or administration, international
affairs, sociology, demography, or other relevant field. Applicants should provide a formal
