Relationship Manager - Bureau of Asset Management, Cook County, Illinois

Build Up Cook is an innovative program run by the Bureau of Asset Management at Cook County that provides capacity building to under-resourced communities to meet their capital needs. We’re hiring program staff to listen, understand, and work with them to upgrade water mains, improve combined sewers, repair Village halls, and complete a variety of projects to improve resident quality of life. Community Organizer - Austin Coming Together

Position Description

The Community Organizer will have four main responsibilities: a) ensure widespread community engagement in, and support for, the Austin Forward. Together. (AFT) Quality of Life Plan; b) develop leadership of each Austin Quality-of-Life Plan Task Force and assist these leaders to mobilize their task forces to take action, which includes convening regular one-to-one and group meetings; c) provide technical assistance and support for the creation and execution of Action Plans and Project Plans d) build the ACT network’s collective power to begin organizing for policy change.

This position administers the Facilities Division, supervises the work of Facilities Maintenance Division personnel, and manages the implementation of a variety of capital and operational projects related to village facilities, performs technical review of engineering and architectural designs, manages professional consulting agreements to provide project design and construction services, and is responsible for reviewing plans to ensure compliance with village standards. Key Responsibilities and Duties

Manages and provides guidance to the Re-entry Services team as they work with local, state, and federal resources in a breadth of community-based re-entry activities and services, in ensuring consistent quality service provision for returning residents.

Collaborates with Illinois’ public safety agency staff and community partners to connect justice involved individuals to services coordinated by Justice Advisory Council.

Aligns with the Administration’s agenda, develops policy, legislature, and strategic recommendations to external governing bodies, such as State and local municipalities, and direct service providers, based upon continuous learning and feedback from Specialists engaging directly with re-entry programs.

Manages multiple Re-entry projects/programs simultaneously and supervises activities of staff and participants accordingly.

        Assistant Village Manager - Village of Orland Park

        Who: The Village of Orland Park, a dynamic, progressive, growing community seeks an Assistant Village Manager to assist the Village Manager in providing leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Village.
        The Village Orland Park is a premier community located 30 miles southwest of Chicago’s Loop with a residential population of nearly 60,000, and is the commercial and retail hub of the Chicago south suburban region. Orland Park continues its wave of growth and prosperity from a historic, rural community to a dynamic corporate and commercial center. The Village Comprehensive Plan provides an overview of the Orland Park community, economic development, culture and more.

        What: The Assistant Village Manager will serve as Acting Village Manager in the absence of Village Manager. In addition this position will provide high level staff support to the Village Manager, perform research, draft correspondence, and manage programs as assigned. This position will respond to complex citizen inquires as needed and coordinate department actions/responses. Oversees issues, projects and programs, requiring inter departmental cooperation or high-level response to residents or community groups.
