Healthy CPS Hotline Coordinator - Chicago Public Schools

The Healthy CPS Hotline Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for callers to learn more about all of the Chicago Public Schools’ Healthy CPS initiatives and programs. Planner - Kenai Pennisula Borough

Who: Kenai Pennisula Borough

What: Under the general direction and supervision of the borough planning director or his designee, the planner is responsible for performing complex and varied planning and zoning assignments related to development, plan reviews and technical analysis; produces written reports and makes presentations at meetings; performs related work as required. The Director of Community Development oversees economic development initiatives and business district management including the Clark Street and Lincoln Avenue Special Service Area (SSA) taxing districts. The Director oversees a variety of programs and projects, hires and manages vendors, creates and monitors budgets and assists with all small business development initiatives. 


General Duties and Responsibilities: 

Special Service Areas 


• Serve as the project director for the Clark Street and Lincoln Avenue Special Service Areas (SSA)

Government Affairs and Economic Development 

  • • Lead and manage business attraction initiatives throughout the neighborhood 
  • • Collaborate with LPCC leadership on development and implementation of legislative agenda 
  • • Work closely and build/maintain relationships with area neighborhood associations, elected officials, city departments, businesses and developers on zoning, policy and community relations issues 
  • • Stay informed about local news, projects and developments affecting Lincoln Park 
  • • Seek out opportunities to work with organizations to advocate for businesses such as the Small Business Advocacy Council 
  • • Stay abreast of neighborhood safety concerns, build relationships with local police commanders, and administer safety and improvement programs

  • • Attend all SSA events, activities and meetings and assist with set up 
  • • Attend all LPCC events and activities and assist with set up 
  • • Attend community and neighborhood association meetings as LPCC representative

Budget Planning Analyst - Arizona State University

The Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team. OPB serves as a steward of resources and trusted advisor to University leadership to support decision-making and enable strategy.

Reporting to the Principal Budget Planning Analyst, the Budget Planning Analyst will assist in the development and execution of policies, processes, and practices in the areas of budgeting, planning, and analysis. The Budget Planning Analyst uses a collaborative and consultative approach to working effectively across stakeholder groups to address financial opportunities and challenges for the University.

Essential Duties

  • Under administrative direction, serves a primary role in facilitating the development and implementation of annual all-funds budgets for assigned administrative and academic units.
  • Performs work related to strategic planning, budget variance analysis, commitment analysis, revenue and expense forecasting, what-if scenario analysis, program evaluation, performance management, and other efforts that support administration decision-making. Evaluates critical cost pools and works with assigned units to identify cost saving measures, including utilities, employee benefits, debt service, and other general operating expenses.
  • Builds, maintains, and updates financial models and associated financial analysis. Performs financial account reconciliations, statement analysis, and transaction research. Participates in the development of less complex mid and long range predictive enrollment, space, staffing, and financial models that support strategic planning efforts and executive decision-making.
  • Supports preparation of strategic planning documents.
  • Supports analysis of complex proposals led by senior departmental staff.
  • Develops data-driven solutions and technical guidance to solve financial, operational, or strategic issues facing assigned units.
  • Develops a strong understanding of the core functionality of Adaptive Planning, the University’s enterprise-wide budget and planning software; capable of providing technical guidance to assigned units to enhance their use of the software for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting needs.
  • Ensures financial compliance with University/Board policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations.
  • Compares data from a variety of sources to ensure accuracy using judgment, and relying on knowledge of subject material.
  • Gathers information; identifies analysis methodologies; and prepares, develops, and submits written and graphic results of the evaluation of data under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Represents the department with academic and administrative units. Performs other duties upon request.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in financial or budget analysis or strategic planning; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Evidence of a Master's degree in related field, such as Business Administration, Public Policy/Administration, Finance, Economics, or Higher Education Administration.

DPQ Programs Coordinator - Chicago Public Schools

Advises citizens, developers, and officials regarding code requirements; schedules petitioners for Plan Commission, Development Services Committee, and Village Board meetings; maintains records of the Plan Commission including case files, agendas, and minutes; conducts/assists orientation sessions for the new members of the Plan Commission.

Makes verbal and graphic presentations to the Village Board, Plan Commission, and Advisory Board; serves in advisory role to parking and traffic; assists with federal, state, and local programs; reviews plans and reports of others; attends staff and committee meetings; attends seminars, workshops, and conferences, in order to maintain professional skills.

Keeps the Director of Development Services and Assistant Director/Transportation Engineering Manager advised of proposed program goals, budget, goal attainment, and problems encountered on comprehensive planning and economic development issues.

Recommends architectural and design guidelines for commercial and industrial projects and reviews architectural design standards.

Performs other duties as assigned which may include providing direction and leadership to some full-time and part-time staff.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in urban planning, public administration, or related fields. A Master’s degree is highly preferred along with a minimum of five years of progressive urban planning or economic development responsibility in a governmental or consulting environment.

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of urban planning with particular emphasis on land use regulations, including but not limited to architectural and special design, residential, commercial, office, and industrial planning, landscaping, site design, environmental policies, economic development, transportation, and population analysis; considerable knowledge of village policies, procedures, ordinances, and resolutions relating to land development; knowledge of historic preservation and intergovernmental cooperation activities; some knowledge of state, county, federal, and Council-Manager forms of government; some knowledge of intergovernmental agencies.

Ability to understand and implement intent of codes; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups; ability to work within time constraints, and to prioritize work; ability to review and analyze development plans and to make recommendations based upon said analysis; ability to prepare plans, reports, and studies; ability to make verbal presentations and to persuade individuals and groups to follow certain courses of action; ability to perform duties with initiative and a minimum amount of supervision; ability to make accurate design drawings and mathematical computations; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to maintain professionalism and objectivity, and to be tactful and courteous in stressful situations.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $73,329 - $102,660 depending on qualifications. This full-time position is eligible for the Village of Orland Park’s comprehensive employee benefits program which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and an employee wellness program. Retirement benefits through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) are provided along with the option to participate in a 457(b) plan with options through Nationwide, ICMA-RC, Mass Mutual, or AXA Advisors are also available.
