Who: City of Kansas City Planning & Development Department
What: Long Range Planning & Preservation Division
Prepares long range area plans for the entire city geography and implements the City’s comprehensive planning (FOCUS) principles. Assists with elected officials, development community, local neighborhood groups, civic organizations and residents to prepare data, reports and land use plans of a comprehensive and complex character.
REQUIRES an accredited Master's degree in planning; OR an accredited Bachelor's degree and 2 years professional experience in community, urban or regional planning work.

Program Coordinator 3 - Metra
Who: Metra is one of the largest and most complex commuter rail systems in North America, serving Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kane, and McHenry Counties. The agency is linking communities in Northeastern Illinois by providing safe, reliable, and efficient commuter service.
What: Reporting to Department Head, Program Development, the Program Coordinator 3 coordinates the development of the annual and five year capital plans, lead and perform grant development and program management and reporting functions, and assist with Transit Asset Management (TAM's) data coordination and reporting. Evaluate project justification data submitted by operating departments, using the strategic capital model and decision making tool, to determine eligibility and level of grant funding; and collaborate with management in departments selected for funding to develop budgets, project scopes, and schedules. Attend status meetings to track the progress of projects, provide analysis of spending, and advise departments relative to achieving project milestones, modifying project scope, and reallocating funds. Create and update databases on project status, assist in the preparation of quarterly capital program amendments, and generate reports for use by management in making reallocation decisions. Oversee and coordinate the preparation of discretionary grant applications including researching grant opportunities, identifying projects that meet program eligibility, completing grant applications, and monitoring obligations and expenditures. Manage the preparation of quarterly reports on grant expenditures and progress reports for Unified Work (UWP) planning grants and represent Metra at UWP meetings on regional planning issues.
