Primary Responsibilities
Generate strong, strategy-based concepts and champion ideas with enthusiasm.

Maintain accountability for quality, strategy, deadline and budget for a given group of clients.
Report regularly to management on project and team member progress.

Participate as a member of the Solutions management team in both short-term and long-term planning activities.
Provide input at the proposal stage for key projects.
Maintain knowledge of emerging print, promotion and web technologies and trends.

Independent self-starter, willing to work hands-on to ensure the best results.
Skills and Experience
Strong portfolio with Multicultural Creative or Planning, including major award-winning brand activations work with strong digital experience.
4+ years experience in managing a sizable creative team or has been a Strategy Planner within a design shop, advertising or interactive agency.
3+ years experience in team management and client contact.
Clear understanding of marketing and branding strategies within Multicultural segment.
Ability to maintain focus while encouraging exploration.
Strong presentation skills required.
Strong process and project management skills; achievement in leading large-scale projects.
Strong strategic leadership skills and ability to champion ideas at all levels of the firm.
Experience in the management of inside and outside resources.
Experience in developing strategies and delivering process improvements.

boutique economic development consulting firm is seeking a planning
student or recent graduate to work on a retail inventory for a far south
Chicago suburb retail market assessment assignment. Work will include
inventorying and creating a database of all retailers within the
municipal city limits and retailers within the 15 minute drive time
trade area.
Assignment will be a paid an assignment fee of $480 for all
needed work. Payment upon completion. Must have own transportation,
insurance to complete the windshield tour, and ability to create an
Excel database.
The assignment will start immediately with a deadline of
August 17th for completion and submittal of the
database. Expected hours for the assignment is estimated at 24 hours.

Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and monitor alumni engagement strategies related to existing and future affinity alumni networks, including volunteer management, event and program planning and development, marketing, and collaboration with appropriate deans, department chairs, faculty, advancement staff, and other internal/external partners. - Manage Signature Programs for the Department of Alumni Relations. The HistoryMakers, the
nation’s largest African American video oral history archive, is seeking
a Project Director for a NSF-funded project. The project director must
be able to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, hold a
degree in STEM, and have prior experience with effective outreach and
developing collaborative relationships with other groups and
organizations. Brief description of project: ScienceMakers will collect the oral history interviews of 180 major African American scientists in the STEM professions. The content of the interviews will be used to increase awareness and knowledge of STEM professions and African American contributions to science while also encouraging youth to pursue science-related careers. This will be done by using the archive of interviews and working with ten major science center partners to build an educational website, create science and science career-related curricula, and produce public programming events at the science centers. The Project Director will manage the execution of the project plans, ensure appropriate communication to team and management concerning all aspects of project, serve as primary coordinator for all project components, providing daily administrative management with the assistance of an administrative assistant. He/she will be responsible for working directly with the Advisory board (which consists of twenty-six individuals from across the country). He/she will also be responsible for managing the evaluation subcontract and will provide project tracking, planning and oversight activities for the duration of the project. This is a salaried position. The Project Director will be expected to research for and write grants from NSF and other federal funding agencies to continue the work begun by ScienceMakers. Required: Must currently live in Chicago; A degree in a STEM field; Experience directing and administering a grant-funded project; Experience coordinating public programs for youth and/or adults; Grant writing for federal agencies; Excellent written and oral communications skills; Excellent organizational skills; Ability to travel 3-4 times per year; and Expertise in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. General Description: The
Manager, Foundations & Government is responsible for Ravinia’s grant
portfolio. This role, through coordination with and supervision by the
Associate Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations,

and individual donors to generate funding for education programs,
general operating and special productions for the Festival. This
position works closely with the director and and staff of the
Reach*Teach*Play department and Director of Development on the timely
submission and reporting of grant proposals, reports and prospect
research. The position works in a supporting role with the
Reach*Teach*Play Program Committee made up of Ravinia Trustees, which
plays a role in helping to identify and contact prospects. Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities • In partnership with the Associate Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations, set goals, objectives, and timelines for foundation, government and Reach*Teach*Play grant initiatives. • Manage foundation and government plan to reach fiscal year goals and objectives. Annually evaluate the results, adjusting and fine-tuning for future activities and plans. • Write proposals for Reach*Teach*Play, general operating and special funding requests. • Research prospects for Reach*Teach*Play programs and a variety of projects throughout the year. • Maintain calendar of proposal and reporting deadlines, and prepare progress and final reports as needed. • Oversee activities relating to recognition of donors and sponsors including event planning with the Reach*Teach*Play department. • Act as primary or supportive liaison with foundation and government contacts on details of grant agreements and proposed new partnerships. • Act as supportive staff manager for the Reach*Teach*Play Program Committee which may include working with the Committee to coordinate prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, follow-up and reporting of activities. • Make personal visits with prospects for major funding requests as necessary. • Interface with appropriate Festival staff regarding details of grant proposals and agreements, such as recognition, ticketing, facilities and operations. • Represent the Festival at social, cultural and other engagements at Ravinia and in the Chicago community. • Provide customer service to Trustees, donors and prospects. • Take on a major role for annual golf outing, which raises funds for the Reach*Teach*Play programs. • Participate at and help as needed at all other major functions including the Music Matters Benefit, annual Gala, season previews, etc… • Contribute to creating a cohesive team environment and overall success of Development department. Position Specifications The ideal candidate will have 5 years minimum experience in development at a cultural institution or related nonprofit. The Manager will have strong communication skills to effectively with work with foundations, corporations, governmental organizations, individual donors, board members and other constituents. S/he will be an extremely organized, highly detail-focused individual who can be flexible and cheerful in responding to the needs of a large, fast-moving nonprofit. The ideal candidate will possess the following professional and personal abilities, attributes, and experiences: • A creative and proactive approach to fundraising. • A proven track record in successful public, government and private grant writing, with an emphasis on foundation fundraising. • Superior writing skills and communication abilities. • Excellent attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively and independently. • Proficient to advanced skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Raiser’s Edge.
