Shoreline Development Analyst - San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission

Who: The award‐winning San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) is a small state agency located in San Francisco’s Civic Center. BCDC has planning and regulatory responsibility over development located in and around San Francisco Bay, one of the most urbanized estuaries in North America. BCDC is offering an exciting opportunity to participate in shaping the development of the Bay’s shoreline, with particular focus on providing world‐class public spaces and opportunities for people to enjoy and experience San Francisco Bay.

What: You’ll be responsible for reviewing proposals for development projects along the Bay shoreline. We are looking for a person who enjoys working across the table from accomplished builders, designers, engineers and environmentalists. You must be solution‐oriented, flexible, self‐driven and have the ability to change course, think big and start small, and thrive in a forward‐thinking environment. BCDC’s Shoreline Development Analyst has a rare opportunity to take ownership in the evaluation and analysis of shoreline development projects, so knowledge about California land use and environmental planning principles is highly advantageous. This role requires superior project management skills and close communication with permit applicants, consultants, project stakeholders, other government agencies and, of course, BCDC‘s regulatory and planning teams. You should be an effective and analytical problem solver with excellent writing and public speaking skills and the capacity to become a strong negotiator.

BCDC’s Shoreline Development Analyst will analyze and provide recommendations to the Executive Director and the 27‐ member Commission on proposals involving a wide range of development types, including:

Who: Illinois Housing Development Authority

What: The Policy Manager will act as a point of contact between department heads, employees and stakeholders engaged in the development, maintenance and updating of departmental and Authority Policy and Procedures. This role will provide training support and guidance on Rapid Results projects at the Authority. The Policy Manager must be able to lead and direct the work of others, as well as provide guidance and support to senior Authority staff. Chief Portfolio Officer - Chicago Public Schools

  • Oversee the expansion of the GoCPS enrollment platform and long-term enrollment strategy. 
  • Build awareness of GoCPS and manage continuous improvements in its communication. Define and implement a comprehensive strategy that ensures consistent access to clear, understandable, and transparent information to drive school and programmatic planning. 
  • Track, monitor and report student achievement, enrollment, and performance trends across the district, and collaborate with district's research strategy and agenda. 
  • Lead annual regional data analysis cycles, information dissemination, change initiatives, communication and measurement, with the purpose of better informing policy design.

Housing Locator Specialist II - New Moms (Chicago)

Who: New Moms believes that young moms who are experiencing poverty and homelessness have the potential to interrupt the cycle of poverty for two generations and create strong families and communities for generations to come. We offer opportunities for stable housing, job training, and family support for over 250 young moms and their children every year in an innovative two generational model. The mission of New Moms is to express the love of God by surrounding young moms and their children with all they need to transform their lives and we live this out every day with our core values of love, grit, hospitality, empowerment, and possibility.

New Moms is a 35 year old nonprofit organization, with a budget of about $4 million and a staff of 50, focused on serving young moms and their children in Chicago and the near western suburbs. Our headquarters is located on the west side of Chicago in the Austin neighborhood. Our social enterprise, Bright Endeavors, which provides paid transitional jobs for young moms, is located nearby in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. We also have an office in Oak Park serving the near western suburbs.

What : The Housing Locator Specialist is a key member of the housing team whose primary responsibility is to identify and cultivate housing opportunities to support families’ transition from transitional housing to permanent housing in the community. S/he will be developing relationships with landlords, identifying housing that is suitable to maximize the permanent housing success and provide short-term supports upon exiting from transitional housing in the community. S/he will collaborate with team member who is supporting 15 families in a pilot program, Families in Transition, who are in scattered site permanent housing to ensure housing is maintained. This role works collaboratively with the Housing team and external partners to achieve program goals. Zoning Administrator - LCC Telecom Services

What: Seeking a zoning administrator in the wireless industry.

We review zoning codes and maps, make recommendation to various wireless providers as to the abilities to erect towers in a given location. Once a site is chosen it is the zoning administrator’s responsibility to put together the application materials, make presentations to local governing bodies and then pull all of the necessary permits. Good verbal and written abilities are an essential. Also, there is quite a bit of travel associated with the position so the candidate must be aware of this and able to travel throughout the country. The chosen candidate will be reporting to me. I have a master’s degree in planning and look for someone who is knowledgeable about planning.

Sustainable Communities Liaison - Citizens Utility Board (Chicago)

Who: The Citizens Utility Board (CUB) is Illinois’ premiere utility watchdog organization, striving for better service and lower utility rates for all Illinois residents.
