What:
Under the direction of the Section Manager, Service Planning and Scheduling, plans, designs, implements and evaluates changes in fixed routes, community transit and paratransit services operated by Pace garages and contractors; analyzes route performance data to make improvements in service; conducts field work to review current service and plan new service; investigates and responds to internal and external queries and input pertaining to fixed route and community transit services; participates in Pace service restructuring initiatives to increase ridership and revenue, decrease travel time, and find new markets; attends public meetings and responds to inquiries about planning or scheduling of specific routes; and performs other duties as assigned.

Economic Development Program Manager - Cook County (closes 9/27)
Who: Cook County
What: Under the direction of the Bureau Chief or their designee, supports Cook County’s efforts to pursue inclusive economic and community growth by supporting residents, growing businesses, attracting investment and nurturing talent. Promotes workforce development strategies and resources; organizes events to engage businesses; manages related grants; and coordinates with partners/colleagues to align related economic and workforce development efforts. Supports industry driven, sector-based partnerships to leverage County resources and partner initiatives. Develops and executes outreach plan to educate stakeholders and manufacturers regarding the available resources to support talent development including work-based learning programs. Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree. (Must provide original college/university transcript at time of interview)*
Four (4) years of professional work experience in urban planning, economic development, manufacturing, or workforce development.
One (1) year project management work experience.
One (1) year professional work experience designing and launching new programs/products related to business, workforce, community or economic development.
Valid driver's license. (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Public Policy; Public Administration; Business; Community Development; Urban or City Planning; Social or Community Services/Social Work; Labor/Workforce Management; or Workforce Development.
Experience planning and implementing apprenticeship and work-based learning programs. Experience using CRM software systems.
*Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States’ territories and Canada must be credentialed by an approved U.S. credential evaluation service belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). Original credentialing documents must be presented at time of interview.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
Familiarity with workforce trends in manufacturing, economic development and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of registered apprenticeship programs and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
Knowledge of methods to engage businesses in apprenticeship programs.
Demonstrated experience establishing partnerships with business and civic organizations and higher education institutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to a wide range of audiences including department heads as well as external agencies, businesses and manufacturers.
Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments/projects with overlapping deadlines.
Ability to connect partners with one another and to existing resources.
Ability to provide summaries of program elements and outlining the process for attaining desired outcome.
Ability to maintain confidential data and records.
This position may require moderate travel to work assignments throughout Cook County.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Who: The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus is a membership organization of the Chicago region’s 275 cities, towns and villages. Founded in 1997 by then Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and leading Mayors from nine suburban municipal groups, the Mayors Caucus pushes past geographical boundaries and local interests to work on public policy issues.
