Traffic Works is seeking a Transportation Planner or Traffic Engineer for a unique, challenging, and rewarding position. The firm is growing and seeks a skilled transportation professional with 7 to 15+ years of experience, committed to high quality work and familiar with the consulting environment. This position offers unlimited opportunities to manage projects, clients, other staff, grow a new discipline, and establish a long-term career path. The position could include office leadership, new office establishment, or another significant firm-wide role.
Minimum Requirements: 
Four year degree in Urban Planning, Civil/Transportation Engineering, or a closely related field PE, TE, PTOE, AICP, or PTP required 7+ years of experience as an Engineer or Planner in the traffic/transportation field Verifiable experience in at least three (3) of the following technical areas:
  • Multi-modal Planning, Transit Planning, or Urban Design 
  • Level of Service Calculations and Simulation using common software packages 
  • Traffic Impact Studies 
  • Safety Evaluations and Road Safety Audits 
  • Pedestrian and Bicycle Facility Planning or Design 
  • Signing and Striping Design 
  • Travel Demand Modeling 
  • Stop Sign and Signal Warrant Analysis or other applications of the MUTCD 
  • Complete Streets Evaluation and Design 
  • Roundabouts and Traffic Signal Analysis and Design Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and the desire and ability or directly interact with a broad range of clients as a project manager with marketing responsibilities.
Flexibility, self-starter/self-motivated personality, and a service minded attitude. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (US Citizen or Permanent work status)
Salary: $70,000 - $120,000+ annually, depending on qualifications
