Program Manager of Leadership Development and Advocacy
The Program Manager of Leadership Development and Advocacy is responsible for the implementation of the Bay Area Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute (BCLI). This includes identifying candidates and their training needs, designing the curriculum and recruiting speakers, and supporting the placement of fellows onto boards and commissions. The Program Manager of Leadership Development and Advocacy will also support policy and advocacy campaigns (both local and regional) and trainings. The Program Manager must be able to design curricula and conduct trainings for policy campaigns, be organized and detail-oriented, and effectively manage multiple projects.
Job Qualifications
Education/Experience, and Skills for this position:
- Bachelor's degree with content knowledge in one or more of the following: urban planning, public policy, transportation, affordable housing, or environmental studies. Master's degree a plus.
- At least three (3) years experience in public policy, public administration, public health, urban planning, community development, or social/environmental justice field.
- Experience with training, facilitation, and curriculum development.
- Experience working with or significant exposure to grassroots organizing.
- Ability to build relationships with community, policy, labor, and government stakeholders; existing relationships in Bay Area politics and social/environmental justice organizations a plus.
- Bilingual preferred.
