The Village of Mount Prospect is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Development Review Planner within the Community Development Department.

Essential functions include conducting development plan reviews to ensure compliance with the Village’s Zoning Ordinance, managing zoning applications, performing plat reviews, and serving as staff liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission, which includes writing and presenting staff’s recommendations at the public hearings. Other duties include performing final inspections, code enforcement, participating in the development of code updates, and providing technical assistance to the general public regarding zoning. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in planning or related field and at least two (2) years of planning experience. A master’s degree and/or experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) desirable, but not required. Strong verbal and writing skills, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and excellent customer service skills are a must.

This position pays between $55,000 and $60,000 annually depending on qualifications.
