Traffic Works, LLC is seeking a GIS/Field Technician for a unique internship opportunity consisting of GIS based project support and field work.  The GIS/Field Technician intern position provides the opportunity to work closely with company staff to create a unique and large-scale GIS database while also providing the opportunity to work in the field.  Field work will include the collection and analysis of multi-modal data using equipment such as pneumatic hose counters, video recording technology, and infrared trail counters.  Applicants must have a strong attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage time efficiently. 
This position is temporary with an estimated duration of 3 months. The duration may be extended based on workload and employee performance. Applicants must be able to work 20+ hours per week for the duration of the internship.
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 2 years completed of 4 year degree program at an accredited University (or equivalent work experience)
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Outstanding communication skills and a hard-working, self-motivated, positive attitude
  • Valid Driver’s License & clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds, ride a bicycle for data collection purposes, and perform equipment setup requiring agility
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with data collection equipment (pneumatic hose counters, video recording technology, and infrared trail counters) is a plus
  • Completed Four Year Degree in Engineering/Urban Planning/Geography Studies is a plus
Compensation: $15 per hour
