ASSOCIATE PLANNER
Salary:   $63,636 - $78,828/yr., plus excellent benefits.
City: Located in the San Fernando Valley, about 23 miles north of downtown Los Angeles, the City of San Fernando is about 2.4 square miles, with about 25,000 residents.  The City has a rich history and culture, a small town atmosphere, and a well-planned blend of residential, commercial and industrial development.  
Position:  Under general direction of the Community Development Director, is responsible for a broad range of current/long range planning activities including land development projects, general plan elements, zoning code administration and update, project design review, redevelopment planning, acquisition, disposition, development, neighborhood preservation; and other related duties.
Qualifications:  Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Architecture or related field. Three years’ experience in local general-purpose planning and/or redevelopment activities is required. Master’s in Urban Planning may substitute for one-year experience.  Ability to understand & speak Spanish is highly desirable.
