Associate Environmental Planner
Duties:
Project Management
  • Track project budgets and expenditures
  • Report to Senior Planner/Project Manager on project schedule and budget
  • Report to Senior Planner on project tasks
  • Coordinate and attend client meetings
  • Prepare presentation materials
  • Prepare meeting minutes
  • Represent GPA at professional events
Environmental Planning Services
  • Identify research needs and conduct research
  • Perform field work to collect site data
  • Complete technical analysis
  • Prepare, review, and process environmental documentation
  • Prepare regulatory permit applications and coastal permit applications
  • Attend public meetings, project kick-off meetings, project development meetings, and interviews
  • Coordinate with public agencies, engineers, and other project team members during project development

Skills/Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of:
    • CEQA/NEPA
    • Caltrans, Metro, and other public agency standards
    • State/federal regulatory processes
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in environmental planning or a closely related field
  • Three or more years of full-time professional experience in the environmental planning field
  • Strong organizational and computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including leadership, teamwork, project management, and public speaking
  • Strong writing and analytical skills and high attention to detail
