About the Rose Fellowship
The Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellowship partners early-career architectural designers with local community development organizations, where they facilitate an inclusive approach to development to create green, sustainable, and affordable communities. As an integral staff member of the organization, the fellow will focus on advancing the organization’s practices in community engagement, sustainability and design excellence. By becoming a fellow, you join a growing network of passionate and talented public interest designers who are continuously changing what is possible in community development.
About Thunder Valley CDC
The Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation serves the Oglala Lakota Nation on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota and is seeking a Rose Fellow to help the organization build on their integrative approach to design and regenerative development. The fellow will be a crucial component to the capacity building of a Native American-led organization and will help define the future of Lakota architecture.
TVCDC is in the process of developing an array of projects, including single family homes, the Empowerment Center, and Powwow Grounds, along with other projects that will eventually form a “cultural corridor.” The fellow will play a role in all aspects of the design process and project management of current and future projects. The fellow will also engage the community and take the lead on the research and submission for the LIHTC application.
