The City of College Park, MD seeks a F/T planner to serve as the coordinator for economic development activities.  Position involves initiating and implementing economic development programs;  collecting and reporting data on the City’s economy; managing small business grant programs; revitalizing local commercial districts; encouraging new development; attracting and retaining businesses; promoting and marketing the assets of the City to potential businesses and residents; working effectively  with local merchants, the community, the University of Maryland, Prince George’s County, and other economic development groups.  Requirements include bachelor’s degree in urban planning, economic development, public or business administration; minimum 2 years of experience in economic development; excellent analytical, organizational, and computer skills; and competent writing and public speaking skills.  Minimum starting salary $48,000 DOQ plus competitive benefits.  Must submit application, cover letter, and resume.  Open until filled.
