What you will accomplish:
  • Conduct background research and data collection on environmental topics for CEQA and NEPA documents for development and infrastructure projects 
  • Conduct site visits, including preparing land use and other surveys for projects located mainly in urban environments 
  • Write sections of CEQA and NEPA documents, and Proponents Environmental Assessments
  • Work closely with project managers to produce CEQA and NEPA documents 
  • Compile and organize administrative records and project files 
  • Assist with marketing materials and proposals
Experience and qualifications for success:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, environmental science, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus 
  • At least three (3) years of experience with a public planning agency, an environmental consulting firm, or comparable 
  • Working knowledge of CEQA required 
  • Working knowledge of NEPA, and other environmental laws and regulations preferred 
  • Knowledge of GIS programs desirable 
  • Excellent logic, organizational, oral, written and analytical skills 
  • Ability to work in a team environment with strong multi-tasking skills able to work on more than one project at a time, meeting tight deadlines 
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, resolve problems, and identify improved procedures to assure client needs are met effectively
