Overview

The Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission, a public planning agency, serves an eight-county area in Northeast Wisconsin.  This region has 185 total local units of government, 5,433 square miles, 400 miles of coastline, and is home to 582,535 residents. The Executive Director leads and manages all aspects of the Commission, including hiring and supervising all staff; overseeing the development and administration of the annual budget and two-year rolling work program; maintaining communication with local governments, state and federal departments, and partner organizations; and reporting to a 20 member Board of Commissioners.
Compensation:
Starting annual salary range of $70,000 to $75,000 with possible performance-based increases. Relocation costs are negotiable. Benefits package includes health, dental, life, and disability insurance; paid holiday, vacation, sick leave, and two personal days; participation in the Wisconsin State Retirement System.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in economic or community development, urban planning, public or business administration, or related field.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Significant experience in a supervisory role in regional planning and/or other governmental organizations; some private sector experience may substitute for public service experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Economic development experience desired.
