About the Rose Fellowship
The Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellowship partners early-career architectural designers with local community development organizations for a three-year term where they facilitate an inclusive approach to development to create green, sustainable, and affordable communities. As an integral staff member of the organization, the fellow will focus on advancing the organization’s practices in community engagement, sustainability and design excellence. By becoming a fellow, you join a growing network of passionate and talented public interest designers who are continuously changing what is possible in community development.
About Capitol Hill Housing
Capitol Hill Housing serves the Capitol neighborhood in central Seattle, and seeks a Rose Fellow to identify new opportunities for community development, set organizational sustainability goals and practices, and become a steward for community values and priorities in the design process.
CHH is currently pursuing ambitious partnership and development goals, which include planning for new Transit Oriented Development around the Capitol Hill light rail site, working to increase our community development presence in Seattle’s Central District and creating the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict. They believe that the many communities, residents, investors and stakeholders affected by these developments must all be part of the conversation. The Rose Fellow will play a large role in the development of these projects, including the design of the Liberty Bank Building, and will assist in the creation of new projects by investigating other Seattle neighborhoods for the purpose of CHH development. The fellow will also help CHH better understand sustainability in design and help CHH create a green building strategy for its current and future properties.
