The City of Walnut Creek is  looking to fill two full-time Assistant Planner positions and one Associate Planner position in the Current Planning and Advance Planning sections of the Planning Division of the Community and Economic Development Department.

Job Description:
The Assistant Planner position is an entry-level position and will be assigned planning activities of entry level to moderate difficulty. Most of the work assignments include specific directions and are performed within the limits of prescribed policies and guidelines. This position is expected to develop a level of knowledge and ability that will permit upward progression. Salary for Assistant Planner: $71,920.42 - $86,530.60 Annually
The Associate Planner position is a journey-level and is assigned planning work of moderate to high levels of complexity. The Associate Planner is distinguished from Assistant Planner by its increased responsibility for project management and independence of decision-making as well as its more complex assignments. This position is responsible for handling assigned tasks independently and for demonstrating a level of competence appropriate to a qualified professional planner in planning, development, urban design, housing, and/or transportation planning. Salary for Associate Planner: $79,078.48 - $95,484.22 Annually
