The Position
Midtown Alliance seeks a highly-motivated person to fill the Transportation Project Implementation Manager (TPIM) position for transportation and infrastructure projects.  The TPIM is responsible for all aspects of the strategic management of projects, including planning, tracking and reporting progress, budgets and funding, and collaborating with staff and stakeholders.  The position reports to the Director of Transportation & Sustainability. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Planning, implementation and project management of activities related to transportation, urban infrastructure, and civic spaces. Project management responsibilities include oversight and tracking project success ensuring implementation is on schedule and on budget; assisting with design overview and coordination with consultants on urban transportation projects; providing planning, implementation, overall project management for the development and maintenance of civic spaces, and selection and contracting with consultants as needed and approved. 
The TPIM will be expected to:
  • Have exceptional project planning and implementation skills:pro-active planning and execution of all tasks necessary to carry out a project or program successfully and with a sense of urgency.
  • This includes scoping, quality assurance, contract/vendor management and tracking, frequent stakeholder contact and follow-up, project and communication documentation necessary to help ensure project success, and supporting completion of any task being performed by others as needed.
  • Create effective relationships with project partners:  working directly with a broad range of public and private sector partners to achieve project success.
  • Pro-actively seize opportunities and overcome obstacles.
  • Track and communicate relevant performance metrics, assessing progress against goals; identify appropriate metrics; collect before and after data; track progress in organizational dashboard to help communicate success to senior management and stakeholders. 
  • Assist with grant and fundraising efforts, including identification of funding partners and appropriate grant opportunities; oversight of grant-writing process; tracking and advocating for funding as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of post-graduate experience in the fields of project management, engineering, architecture, construction management, transportation planning, landscape architecture or a related field.
Prior experience is also required developing and executing complex plans in the areas of transportation or capital projects.  Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with public and private partners to implement projects. 
The candidate must be self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrable track record of achieving goals. 
The candidate will thrive in a small, fast-paced and dynamic office environment.
