Planner - Village of Huntley, IL

Who: Village of Huntley, IL, Development Services Department

What: This position performs professional, technical, and administrative work related to new developments in the Village. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing varied services and assignments related to zoning administration, site plan review, project management, long-range planning, and code enforcement. The position requires strong customer service and excellent communication skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Strong writing skills and attention to detail required.

Work includes responsibility for providing information regarding Village codes and standards to the public; preparation of maps and other illustrative materials; and collecting planning data. The position also involves responsibility for providing technical advice and guidance to the Director of Development Services and other Village staff regarding development activity. The Planner will serve as staff liaison to the Plan Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Historic Preservation Commission. Attendance at various evening meetings is required.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in urban planning, or related field from an accredited college or university is required. AICP certification is preferred, but not required. The candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience in an urban planning capacity or a related field of work.

Benefits: The salary range for this position is $58,957 - $83,162 and includes a comprehensive benefits package, including participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.
