As part of its planning consulting services, GCR seeks a qualified professional to work on a range of community development, specific area and comprehensive planning, market analysis, economic development and revitalization projects. The successful candidate will lead projects in market analysis, community revitalization strategies, and land-use strategic planning.

Job Description
As part of its planning consulting services, GCR seeks a qualified professional to work on a range of community development, specific area and comprehensive planning, market analysis, economic development and revitalization projects. The successful candidate will lead projects in market analysis, community revitalization strategies, and land-use strategic planning.
General Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from start to finish including budget adherence, schedule adherence, managing staff time, invoicing, and client communication.
- Assist in development of new planning work including feasibility and market analyses, economic development and evidence-based community revitalization.
- Support quantitative and demographic analyses in development of housing, transit, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure planning.
- Translate results of research and analysis into both graphical and written form that explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Advance planning practice and client services through innovative use of analytics, research, and technology.
- Organize outreach efforts, including preparing presentations, facilitating meetings, and collecting data through traditional and advanced methods.
- Manage time across multiple projects within proscribed budgets and deliver work on-time.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated passion for working in community development and improving the built environment through evidenced-based planning.
- Master’s degree in city planning or related field + at least six (6) years relevant experience; OR
Bachelor’s degree + at least 10 (ten) years directly related experience
- Increasing level of responsibility including direct project management experience
- Subject matter experience – land-use planning; market and feasibility analysis; survey methods; economic development etc.
- Excellent quantitative, research and analytic skills with ability process and explain results graphically and in writing.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to show individual initiative & work collaboratively on a team.
- Software: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required; GIS, modelling or other related planning software desirable.
