The Associate Planner is responsible to perform professional work in the field of current and advance planning; and to provide information and assistance to developers and the public on planning related matters.
The current vacant position will perform a variety of professional level work in current and advanced planning, including review of development plans, entitlement applications and technical reports; research and analysis; preparation of written reports, environmental assessments and legal notices; presentations; technical assistance to the general public; and related work as required.

Experience and Training Guidelines 
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: 
Experience
Two years of responsible experience equivalent to Assistant Planner in the City of Modesto. 

Training

Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in regional or urban planning, geography or a related field. 

License or Certificate

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California driver's license.
