LUCHA is searching for a CHA Housing Outreach Coordinator (immediate availability). 

About LUCHA

Since 1982, LUCHA (Latin United Community Housing Association) has served thousands of moderate and low-income families with Affordable Housing Development, Emergency Housing Repair and Assistance, Home Buyer Counseling, Foreclosure Prevention and Legal Assistance.  LUCHA owns and operates 153 units of affordable housing in the West Town, Humboldt Park and Logan Square Communities, and counsels families around Chicago and in the Midwest region. LUCHA also partners with residents, community organizers, financial institutions and government agencies to maintain its $18 million in real estate assets and to advocate for greater affordable housing options in the region.

Job Description

In support of LUCHA's contract with the Chicago Housing Authority (the "CHA"), the CHA Outreach coordinator will be the point person to accomplish the objectives and purposes set forth by the contract, which requires outreach and registration for the CHA Housing Choice Voucher ("HCV") Program which helps low-income households choose and pay for quality housing in the private market. With funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the HCV Program pays a portion of a family's rent each month to give them access to the full range of housing available in Chicago's diverse neighborhoods.

The CHA Outreach Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations, functions and duties to achieve the delivers of the contract on behalf of LUCHA. In carrying out his/her duties, the CHA Outreach Coordinator will work with the following functional areas within LUCHA: organizing, support services, property management, housing counseling and advocacy and marketing.
