Launch U is looking to accelerate
its growth efforts over the next couple of years both within Chicago and
beginning the process of planning to expand to other regions. Launch U will thus be expanding
its programs with corporate partners, extending its outreach in local
communities, and increasing its programmatic efforts of its college preparation
activities.
Launch U is seeking a Development
Director to join the organization and oversee all strategic and operational
responsibilities including: communication and active engagement with Launch U’s network of mentors and corporate partners, development and fundraising
initiatives, and coordination & support for all Launch U events. Launch U’s Board of Directors and Associate Board will remain actively
involved and support the Development Director in its entire body of work and
all activities. 
Duties and
Responsibilities:
· In conjunction with Launch U’s Board of Directors, lead annual goal setting and development
budgeting.
· Lead all of Launch U’s fundraising and development
events and activities.
· Identify, cultivate, and build relationships with
corporate partners/sponsors and individual donors.
· Act as lead liaison with Launch U’s corporate partners
and assist with management of all development initiatives.
· Manage and coordinate Launch U’s Associate Board
activities in conjunction with Launch U Executive Director.
· Assist with all aspects of marketing and the extension
of Launch U’s brand into the marketplace.
Requirements:
Launch U is seeking an entrepreneurial and
extremely motivated young professional with the following criteria
· Demonstrated success in working in a fast-paced, high
energy environment with a proven ability to meet and complete multiple
deadlines and tasks.
· A minimum of four years work experience with a minimum
of Bachelor’s degree.
· Prior experience with sales and/or fundraising a plus.
· Articulate, professional
demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative.
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills and an outgoing personality.
· A proven ability to work as part of a team and a sense
of humor.
· An interest in working in an entrepreneurial
environment.
· A passion for the mission of
Launch U and in general helping motivated underserved
youth achieve their potential.
Compensation:
Compensation includes a
base salary and benefits commensurate with skills and experience, along with an
incentive bonus program based on performance.
