Salary: $8,000 a month depending on qualifications plus benefits. Closes: Open Until Filled Director of Planning and Development - Harker Heights, Texas is a fast growing community of approximately 28,000 people located in Central Texas close to Fort Hood and 50 miles north of Austin. The City has excellent schools and affordable quality housing. The City also consists of rolling terrain and is bordered by Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The position reports to the City Manager and is responsible for planning, building official, inspections, code enforcement, GIS and assisting other city employees, citizens and the City Council in developing and implementing a vision for the City of Harker Heights. Texas Municipal Retirement System 2-1 match (7%). Position requires a Bachelors Degree in Public Administration, City Planning , or closely related field preferred and five (5) years progressively responsible experience.
