About the Position: We are looking for a full-time senior-level professional for our Chapel Hill office with the skills and practice experience to become an integral part of our zoning and plan implementation practice. Experience with code drafting, detailed document review, public presentations, and project management are essential. In addition, the successful candidate should have experience in plan preparation and graphics development. Much of the work is technical and detail-oriented and candidates will be expected to meet high standards of professional quality and have excellent writing skills. Some travel is an essential part of our practice.
Requirements: The candidate must have a master’s degree in urban planning with a minimum of seven years of practice experience. A degree in urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, or the law would be helpful. Attorneys with experience in land use law may also be considered for this position. The candidate must have excellent oral and written English communication skills and be able to work collaboratively. The candidate should also be highly organized and detail-oriented. Project management experience is important. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. Knowledge of ArcGIS, Sketch Up, InDesign, and Illustrator would also be very helpful.
