The Project Development Division of Metro’s Planning and Development Department works with partners to develop shared investment strategies in order to target investments that help communities build their downtowns, main streets and corridors to facilitate implementation of the region’s 2040 Growth Concept. Projects include supporting compact, transit oriented development (TOD) in the region’s mixed use areas and conducting multijurisdictional planning processes to evaluate high capacity transit and other transportation improvements.
Position summary 
The Senior Development Project Manager performs a variety of complex regional planning, policy analysis, project management and intergovernmental relations activities within the Development Center, which is housed in Metro’s Project Development Division. The position will serve as lead staff in implementing Metro’s new Equitable Housing Development Strategy in accordance with the Work Plan recently approved by the Metro Council. Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to: establishing partnerships with various affordable housing interests and local partners; researching equitable housing development best practices throughout the nation; developing innovative strategies to overcome barriers to equitable housing development; and working to develop resources to support affordable and workforce housing production. May serve as lead over other professional staff. This position is a two year limited duration position intended to correspond with the Work Plan. There is no expectation that the position will be extended at the end of the two year period.
One limited duration position is available. Duration of the funding is two years (November 1, 2016). Limited duration positions are eligible for full benefits. Salary: $69,480 - $93,110 annually. Application deadline: September 30, 2014.
