Chaired by Mayor Rahm Emanuel, World Business Chicago (WBC) is the public-private partnership leading the Plan for Economic Growth and Jobs in order to drive business development, cultivate talent, and put Chicago at the forefront of the global economy. 
WBC has a full-time, entry-level position available in the Research Department, with primary responsibilities that include:
·         Entering data to maintain economic, demographic and other business indicator databases
·         Assisting with responses to requests for information from companies and their intermediaries, media, City of Chicago departments, and other partner organizations
·         Gathering, analyzing, and presenting data for use in presentations, WBC studies, the WBC newsletter, website, and other marketing materials
·         Providing research assistance to the Plan for Economic Growth and Jobs strategy managers and fellows
·         Assisting with other administrative, marketing, and business development tasks as availability allows
We seek candidates who are detail conscious, quick learners with strong data gathering and analysis skills and a passion for applying research to further the economic development goals outlined in the Plan for Economic Growth and Jobs. Must be adept at using Excel; familiarity with GIS and public data sources preferred. An undergraduate degree with coursework in economics, urban planning, public policy or a related field is required. Ability to manage competing tasks in a fast-paced work environment is crucial. The salary for this position is commensurate with education and experience.
