About the Position: The City of Arcadia is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated, well-organized Economic Development Manager. Under general direction, this position will perform comprehensive professional level work related to the implementation of economic development, business assistance, and Successor Agency programs; and will provide highly complex administrative support to the Development Services Director. This position serves as the day-to-day manager of the Economic Development Division and the Successor Agency.
The responsibilities of the Economic Development Manager will also include, but are not limited to the following: 
• Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and policies to promote the economic health and vitality of the City.
• Plan, direct, coordinate, and review all aspects of the Successor Agency to the former Arcadia Redevelopment Agency.
• Act as ombudsman to the business community, assisting business owners and representatives through the entitlement and construction process.
• Manage and participate in the development and administration of the assigned annual budget.
• Coordinate with existing Business Improvement Districts and assist in the development of new Districts.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency of services and procedures to recommend improvements.
• Prepare and present staff reports to the City Council and other policy bodies.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have at least five (5) years of responsible economic development experience, including two (2) years of management and supervisory experience. Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning or a related field.
