The Berks County Planning Commission is seeking candidates for the position of Transportation Planner II.

The Commission is seeking a candidate with at least two years experience in the following areas: Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), Transportation Improvement Program, Long-Range Transportation Plan and regional planning issues.  The Transportation Planner II works under the direction of the Senior Transportation Planner and is involved in all aspects of maintaining and updating transportation programs, projects and assists other Planners with land use studies, SALDO reviews, zoning reviews and other special assignments.
Skills: Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Ability to prepare and present technical graphic presentations to both professionals, municipal officials and the general public. 
Education: The position requires a Bachelor Degree or higher in land use or transportation planning, or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
The successful candidate will have strong verbal skills, highly organized, able to communicate with the public and work effectively with all levels of government.
