Program Coordinator - Mother and Child Alliance, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago - Chicago, IL

 Job Description

The Mother and Child Alliance Program Coordinator will leverage program partnerships, provide outcome and data analysis, and implement projects.

  • Conducts intake on all new MACA clients and collects media releases when requested.
  • Develops programs to support MACA clients, in collaboration with development and case management teams, including outreach and recruitment, and reporting.
  • Provide program support for MACA Enhanced Case Managers including supplies and equipment for team members as well as clients, tabulate support provided and capture client testimonials for services received.
  • Collect and analyze monthly Provide client data from Case Managers for aggregate data reports for quarterly and annual reports to funders, development team, and the Board.

The CDO works directly with the Chief Public Defender and the Executive Team to improve the Office’s internal governance and to facilitate robust data-driven decision-making and works with the Office’s Policy and Communications team to better inform external policy and advocacy. The Institute for Policy Research at Northwestern University is seeking a Director of  Data & Research Partnerships to join us as a founding team member of the Early Childhood Research Alliance for Chicago (EC-REACH). The mission of EC-REACH is to unite diverse partners across sectors, agencies, and institutions to co-construct and conduct action-oriented research that promotes equitable solutions for early childhood policy and practice in Chicago. EC-REACH will develop and support a community of research-practice partnerships (RPPs) among Chicago researchers, policy makers, practitioners, community members, and families. All are committed to working together on large scale, system-level problem solving.

As a key senior team member reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director will support EC-REACH's mission by ensuring that all research conducted and supported by EC-REACH is rigorous, responsive, equitable, collaborative, inclusive, meaningful, accessible, and useful for informing decision-making regarding early childhood systems, policies, and programs.

Specifically, the Director will shape and lead EC-REACH’s strategy for data partnerships and infrastructure, including forging stable, long-term, and mutually-beneficial partnerships with researchers, policymakers, and practitioners; building and overseeing a data management system and structure across multiple datasets; using data to answer partners’ pressing questions via rapid-response and longer-term research projects; and facilitating data access among internal and external researchers who seek to engage in a Chicago early childhood research-practice partnership.

Under general supervision, acts as lead for the routine and long term, data maintenance of the Automated Voice Annunciation System (AVAS). Monitors schedule, service, routing, and stop changes and incorporate into AVAS system. Maintains audio files, public service announcements, and schedule new recordings. Delivers the AVAS distribution process to entire CTA fleet. Serves as key resource in the evaluation of AVAS, Bus Tracker, and related data.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems preferred.
  • Must possess current, valid Illinois driver’s license, along with a clean driving record.

Research Associate - Girls, Inc. (Indianapolis, IN)

Who: The Girls Inc. Research and Evaluation department (R&E) provides the data-driven insights to ensure that, locally and nationally, Girls Inc. is known as the experts on girls. Senior Data Scientist - Cook County Assessor

Who: The Assessor's Office is responsible for setting fair and accurate values for 1.8 million parcels of Cook County property. The value of these properties is not determined on an individual basis, but rather by a mass appraisal system. The mass appraisal system is a way to put fairness into the entire assessment process. In addition to working with other government agencies to stimulate economic development, job creation and the construction of affordable housing, we also seek to help county residents better understand the assessment process and take advantage of money-saving exemptions the office provides.

What: Reporting directly to the Deputy Assessor - Chief Data Officer (CDO), the Senior Data Scientist is responsible for advanced mathematical and statistical concepts and theories to analyze and collect data and construct solutions to problems in assessment methodologies for residential real estate. Performs complex statistical analysis on assessment data of residential real estate to validate and quantify trends or patterns identified by junior data scientists and modelers. The Senior Data Scientist constructs predictive models, algorithms and probability engines to support data analysis; verifies model and algorithm effectiveness based on real-world results. Designs experiments and methodologies to generate and collect data for use in the valuation and assessment processes. The Senior Data Scientist participates in the policy-making process by producing data-informed policy recommendations and prescriptive analytics. Principal Planner, Metra - Chicago, IL

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

 Assist with the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budgetary process by inputting data, performing appropriate analysis, and preparing necessary reports.

 Attend and participate in various organizational meetings of the  City Council and Council sub-committees as directed.

 May facilitate employee committee or ad hoc groups.

 Perform duties and responsibilities as required.  

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

Experience: At least six months of related work experience required. Related internships (paid or unpaid) are acceptable as related work experience.

 Education: Master’s in Public Administration or equivalent

Knowledge of: General knowledge of municipal governments, city regulations/codes and ordinances.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator - Chicago, IL

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Manager in the ongoing operations of the GIS program, and design and/or prepare graphic representations of GIS data. The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator will work with the GIS program to create and maintain geographically referenced data. The GIS Coordinator must be able to support in operating and maintaining the GIS system hardware and software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Tests data for quality and completeness and creates reports on those audits
  • Develops and tests automated output from GIS for a variety of purposes
  • Imports, integrates, updates, cleans, and validates data from multiple sources
  • Writes reports and communicates results, including technology and data recommendations
  • Develops system documentation and user manuals on GIS best practices and functionality
  • Supports GIS Manager in onboarding and training new employees as necessary
  • Initial 3-month contract with the possibility for extension
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-3+ years’ experience with GIS (can be internships)
  • Experience managing multiple tasks, documents, etc.
  • Excellent data management skills – proficient with dealing with large batches of data
  • Must be able to work downtown Chicago 40 hours a week
  • Bachelor degree required
