Project Manager (2 positions) - Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (San Francisco)

What: TNDC is hiring a Senior and an Assistant Project Manager. Both positions are outlined below:
The Senior Project Manager coordinates and implements all activities relating to project development from feasibility analysis through completion of construction. Essential responsibilities include:

GIS Developer - Cook County Bureau of Technology

Who: Cook County Offices Under the President - Bureau of Technology

What: Under the direction of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Manager, the GIS Developer manages and designs the GIS enterprise as related to projects and application development. Assists with the design, development and maintenance of geospatial applications through concept, design, and implementation phases. Coordinates the control and maintenance of GIS enterprise operation tasks across various agencies within Cook County to ensure compatibility and integration with the enterprise strategic plan. Maintains and updates system documentation and ensures procedures are executed properly and in a timely manner. Consults with senior level staff and departmental managers as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.

Senior Project Manager - Metro Strategies (Chicago)

Who: Metro Strategies is a policy, planning and public affairs firm with public, private and nonprofit clients. They provide project management, community outreach and public involvement, issue advocacy strategies, research and policy development, project planning, and grant-writing services to a wide range of clients predominantly in the field of infrastructure and transportation.

What: This position will be assigned to provide planning, policy and communication services to a major infrastructure client and will include such tasks as issue advocacy initiatives, conducting policy review and developing recommendations, and assisting with community level projects. This person must have superior writing and communication skills and have a strong ability to lead and direct multiple projects. Experience working with the public sector on policy, transportation and community issues is required. This work will be located in the western suburbs at the client’s office.

Associate Director, Urban Labs - University of Chicago (Deadline 6/22!)

Who: By 2050, the global urban population will nearly double to 6.4 billion. This unprecedented growth in the global urban population creates incredible opportunities but also intensifies the most difficult problems cities face, such as concentrated poverty, crime, poor-quality schooling, and pollution. The University of Chicago founded Urban Labs to help address these challenges. Urban Labs is a set of highly synergistic labs focused on undertaking inquiry and having impact on five essential dimensions of urban life: crime, education, health, poverty, and energy & environment.

Urban Labs partners with cities to identify and rigorously evaluate the policies and programs with the greatest potential to improve human lives at scale. Urban Labs’ evidence-based approach gives policymakers and practitioners the knowledge they need to effectively achieve the greatest social good per dollar spent. In sum, UChicago Urban Labs: Identifies promising solutions to urban challenges; Tests the most promising urban policies and programs; Scales-up the most effective and cost-efficient policies and programs.

What: The Associate Director will develop and maintain relationships with Health Lab partners, identify ways to leverage the Lab's unique resources, and assist our partners in improving the health and well-being of citizens in Chicago. The Associate Director will report to the Executive Director. Responsibilities include:

Planner - Housing & Community Development Grant Administration Specialist (Lake County, IL)

Who: Lake County, Illinois - Planning, Building, and Development Department

What: Responsible for project management and compliance of community development and housing grants with state and federal regulations. The position supports the development of affordable housing and community revitalization projects within local government, ranging from grants to rehabilitate single family homes and community facilities to construct apartment buildings. Your day will consist of working with local housing developers and elected officials to generate activities that meet the priorities of Lake County’s five-year Housing & Community Development Consolidated Plan.

Special Assistant & Project Administrator – Urban Institute (DC)

Who: Urban Institute, Research to Action Lab

What: The special assistant and project administrator will support the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) and Vice President of the Research to Action Lab. S/he is responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of all the CIOs activities and daily schedule with a high degree of professionalism, sensitivity to important relationships, and attentiveness to issues requiring the CIO's attention. S/he will also manage special projects as needed. Ideally, this individual will have an interest in better understanding the Washington policy landscape, the broad range of social and economic issues addressed by Urban Institute researchers, and nonprofit organizational management, as well as be motivated to pursue a career in policy or a related field.
The ideal candidate will be well equipped to function in a fast-paced office under dynamic conditions. S/he will be entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented and experienced in envisioning, implementing and managing organizational systems that accommodate large influxes of information and utilize the full range of modern office software and communications technology. The special assistant will be able to work independently on projects, from conception to completion. Responsibilities include:
