Title:  MEL Intern

Type: Part-Time (8-10 hrs a week)

About BUILD & the MEL Team:
Since 1969, BUILD, Inc. has worked in some of Chicago's toughest neighborhoods. Applying our model of positive youth development, BUILD seeks to redirect the behavior of gang-affiliated youth and potential gang recruits in order to improve their chances of leading fulfilling lives and to increase the stability and safety of the communities in which they reside.
The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team at BUILD uses data to measure the reach and impact of our services. The MEL team strives to better understand and report out who receives our services (demographics), what services our youth are receiving (outputs), and how these services improve our clients’ lives (outcomes). 
 
Internship Responsibilities:
  • Assist in monitoring, evaluating, and managing data entry and database management system, including training program staff on these tools
  • Assist with implementing tools to assess program performance and areas of improvement
  • Assist with reports to Managers & Directors about data quality & analysis results
