Business Administrative Associate - UIC Extended Campus (closes Oct. 10)

Who: University of Illinois at Chicago Extended Campus

What: This position manages all finance, accounting, planning and budgeting activities of the UIC Extended Campus (UIC EC), to ensure maximum efficiency of their use in support of the UIC EC activities. It serves as a strategic partner in the area of ROI, operational efficiency, revenue growth and profitability. This position is also engaged in financial planning and modeling for all UIC EC programming, validation of new business opportunities and short and long-terms planning and analysis for UIC EC.

Key Responsibilities / Duties: 
Work with UIC EC leadership team to develop annual operating plans, budgeting and quarterly forecasting
Develop, implement , maintain and evolve operating and financial models, tuition and revenue allocations and cost recovery models
Conduct financial-based research and analysis on new business opportunities; develop pro-forma to determine feasibility
Develop financial planning and financial projection for programs and services offered via UIC EC Provide visibility, governance and timely reporting of financial and key performance metrics
Prepare weekly and monthly executive reports including progress on key priorities and metrics; engage in discussions and provide recommendations to meet key priorities
Create, manage and automate operational reports and dashboards to monitor the financial performance and spending of the UIC EC
Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes and methodologies
Responsible for financial policy analysis and development
Oversee financial and related aspects of UIC EC operations, including: analysis of tuition and program fees, enrollment and revenue generation, faculty pay, and charges for EC services.
Act as a liaison to the Campus budget office, the University Business office and other campus’ units. Assure that UIC EC policies and business operations are in compliance with UIC and State laws, policies and procedures.
Oversee day-to-day accounting and operations of the UIC EC

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management or a field related to the position 
  • Two years of professional level accounting, managerial and/or business experience, one year of which was at an administrative level 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MA preferred. 4-6 years of experience in accounting, budgeting and long term planning. 
  • Proficiency in financial modeling. 
  • Experience in higher education and / or government environment, evidence of being able to operate effectively in a fast growing environment and entrepreneurial expectations. 
  • Experience with data management systems, Web Intelligence / Business Objects and other reporting systems. 
  • Ability to work under pressure, with frequently changing landscapes and tight deadlines, combining creativity, problem-solving and can-do attitude. 
  • Highly motivated and willing to take on multiple responsibilities at one. 
  • Experience in analyzing data and generating practical insights and decision-making recommendations. · Independently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, and delivering results in challenging situations. 
  • Ability to deal with complex problems and present recommendation and findings in a clear, concise format.
