This position will be a hybrid analyst and project manager role with responsibilities including quantitative analysis, project management, and assisting with strategy development. The position will report to the CEO and will work with a team of project managers to carry out ACT’s national portfolio of client-based work. This position will require regular travel approximately once or twice per month to project sites across the U.S. ACT prides itself on its outside-the-box and on-the-ground (in the community) approach to our work. Tasks such as developing a customized community impact strategy, economic impact assessment, and frameworks for outcomes/impact assessment require individualized, placespecific strategies in order to be truly effective. As such it will be critical for this position to be a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for and understanding of community development. We rely on a combination of creative quantitative analysis coupled with a grassroots, stakeholderbased approach to community impact that differs from the primarily quantitative approaches undertaken by many consultants. A clear understanding of this hybrid framework will be necessary when joining our diverse, community-oriented team.
The role of Community Impact Analyst will include the following tasks:
• Research and analysis related to community impact projects. This position will work with our team to develop and carry out customized approaches for each project, with specific identified goals and metrics for evaluating outcomes and impact. This will involve significant quantitative analysis and the ability to analyze and array multiple data sets. It will also be important for this position to know how to research and come up with new data sets and metrics, and new ways of looking at data to interact with our qualitative work, and to analyze the combination of those qualitative and quantitative sets in creative ways.
• Project management and client interface. This position will manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project, track critical path schedules, ensure deliverables are completed on time, and communicate with clients. Our team is small and nimble, and everybody has direct client interface. This position will be both managing projects and be part of collaborative teams in a supporting role. Our team values highly motivated and entrepreneurial people who can be strong team players and move projects forward with ample support but minimal management.

    • -  Entrepreneurial and self-motivated and also a good team player.
    • -  Experienced in a range of data analysis interfaces including strong spreadsheet skills.
ArcGIS a plus but not required.
Application: To apply, please email a cover letter (specify whether you prefer to be based in Philadelphia or Baltimore), resume (with salary requirements), and a writing or relevant work sample to greg@actimpact.org.
