Gruen Associates is an award-winning, international planning, urban design, architecture, transportation and landscape architecture firm, headquartered in Los Angeles for 69 years.  We provide services to clients in both the public and private sectors including cities, transportation agencies, other public agencies, developers, educators and high-end retail clientele. We offer our staff of seasoned professionals and young designers the opportunity to be involved as part of multi-disciplined teams on a variety of projects from conception through design and construction.

Available Position:
Planner/Urban Designer
The position provides opportunities to work on a wide range of exciting urban planning and design projects, specific plans, master plans, EIRs, campus projects, revitalization plans, streetscape projects, pedestrian plans and community plans for both public and private sectors.
Experience in land use planning/urban design projects is required, as well as excellent writing, analysis and communication skills, strong physical design and graphics abilities. The planner/urban designer must be able to work both independently and with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals. CAD, GIS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and 3D graphic techniques are required.
A Master's degree in Planning, Urban Design or related field and one-to-six years of experience in planning/urban design/transportation are required. An undergraduate degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture is desirable.
