We are seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer/ Planner to join our San Francisco office. Arup’s San Francisco Planning team undertakes unique and challenging projects. We seek an individual with the technical expertise, experience and motivation to deliver innovative solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified applicant to lead challenging projects and tasks. The hired candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of Planners and Engineers. 
Your responsibilities will involve: 
• Coordinating with a variety of planning, development and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Supervising a wide range of transportation projects, including: Multimodal Transportation Plans and Master Plans, Transportation & Land Use Studies, Transit Planning & Operations Analysis, Traffic Engineering analyses, Traffic and Pedestrian Simulation Modeling and Travel Demand Forecasting.
• Serve as day-to-day client liaison for specific projects.
• Prepare reports and other presentation materials and present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Write reports and proposals.
• Supervise subordinates.
• Work under limited supervision. 
Qualified professionals will have: 
• Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline. Relevant experience may be substituted.
• Undergraduate degree in related discipline
• 5+ years of experience as a senior transport engineer/ planner with a relevant degree with a Master’s degree
• Experience in planning for pedestrian, cycle, vehicular and transit (rail and bus) systems.
• Experience in masterplanning projects.
• A strong capability for spreadsheet-bases analyses is required along with experience with one or more of the following areas: Traffic capacity analysis, micro simulation and demand forecasting.
• Excellent report writing and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills.
• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.
• Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
