CITY & REGIONAL PLANNING IS LOOKING FOR A DEDICATED, CREATIVE AND COLLEGIAL FACULTY MEMBER! 

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's CITY AND REGIONAL PLANNING DEPARTMENT is offering a TENURE TRACK FULL TIME position for an urban design/land use planner at the rank of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR to start on September 15, 2016. 

Located in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design, CRP offers PAB-accredited BSCRP and MCRP degrees. We are an award-winning department recognized as one of the best in California and highly ranked by Planetizen. San Luis Obispo is located in California's beautiful Central Coast, midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. It is an excellent place for living, working and getting involved in planning at all levels.

Cal Poly's CRP Department wants to expand its leadership in land use planning, urban design, and community development through innovative pedagogies in line with national and international trends, and to fashion sustainable practices that can be shared with the planning profession. We are searching for an urban design/land use planner at the Assistant Professor level with a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning (or related discipline). We seek a colleague who brings forward thinking instructional strategies and a scholarly agenda that will strengthen our project-based learning approach related to land use planning, urban design, and community development. 

Teaching assignments include lecture and studio courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels including community-based studios. Areas of instruction include practice, theory and methods.
