Charlotte Center City Partners is seeking an experienced urban designer with a background in Design, Development, and Urban Planning issues and initiatives to serve as a Planning & Development Associate for a Business Improvement District organization (BID).
The Planning and Development Associate will work directly with the Senior Vice President and Chief Planning and Development Officer and the Director of Research on various reports and projects that support the overall mission of Charlotte Center City Partners.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL TASKS
  • Center City 2020 Vision Plan - tasks related to implementing plan recommendations such as the Charlotte Rail Trail, North Tryon Master Plan, 2nd Ward Neighborhood Plan, and West End neighborhood center development
  • Development – tasks related to implementing the South End neighborhood development strategy, Uptown plans and initiatives and retail strategies
  • Planning and Development - assist with committee meetings, workshops and division administration
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 2 - 3 years of as an urban designer performing work related to Design, Development and/or Urban
  • Planning
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in urban design, architecture or landscape architecture
  • Possess excellent writing, communication and facilitation skills as well as visual presentation and graphic design experience
  • Experience using GIS, Microsoft products and Adobe Suite are strongly preferred, including but not limited to PowerPoint, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and SketchUp
