SENIOR TRANSPORTATION PLANNER 
SALARY $59,134.40 - $103,667.20 Annually

THE POSITION: Performs complex and advanced professional level planning duties in support of transportation plans, programs and studies. FLSA STATUS: Exempt Working Conditions: May work shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
REQUIREMENTS 
Education and Work Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in planning or a closely related field and four (4) years of demonstrated professional transportation planning experience.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License at the time of appointment.
Background Investigation: Employment with the Regional Transportation Commission in this position is contingent upon successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation, including qualifying education/experience verification, social security trace, and a criminal history records review.
The Scoring: Your score will be determined by a training and experience rating of the supplemental assessment. You will receive a score of 50 points for meeting the minimum qualification requirements listed on your application. After these requirements are met, you will receive up to an additional 50 points as outlined on the supplemental assessment questions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical ability to perform office and related work, including operating computers and office machinery; stamina to sit for extended periods of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 25 pounds; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Researches, extracts, and compiles data for complex reports, events, plans and presentations; assists in production of reports, documents, events, plans and presentations; recommends new approaches; effects continual improvements in services performed. Processes and analyzes complex planning related data. Represents the RTC in meetings with groups or individuals; answers queries and provides information/assistance as required. Participates in professional development sessions or seminars; stays current on trends, innovations and legal developments in the planning field. Operates a variety of office equipment, to include computers and associated software. Conducts and independently completes a variety of assigned analysis, models, scenarios and special projects as assigned by supervisor. Assists in management of multiple projects/deliverables as directed. Other duties as assigned.
