The Lancaster County Planning Commission is seeking an experienced planner to serve as Director for Transportation Planning and to be part of an innovative planning department. The county is in the process of developing a new comprehensive plan.  The new transportation planning director will be expected to bring vision and drive to the effort through concurrent work on a new long range transportation plan.  This is a singular professional opportunity for the individual selected for this position. The Director for Transportation Planning oversees a continuous, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning process  in accordance with requirements set forth in 23 CFR 450 for metropolitan transportation planning.  The Director for Transportation Planning is responsible for the Long Range Transportation Plan, the Transportation Improvement Program, development and implementation of the Unified Planning Work Program, and other transportation planning programs.  This position reports directly to the executive director.
