OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:
LaSalle Investment
Management is currently seeking a full-time Research Analyst or Associate to
join the Research & Strategy team in Chicago. This person will contribute
to the Research & Strategy team by preparing and communicating real estate
market forecasts and investment recommendations. S/he will be responsible for
market forecasts of assigned markets and will contribute to topical white
papers and presentations. Knowledge of economics and statistical analysis is
required. A demonstrated interest in real estate, land economics, and urban
planning/development, as well as experience using Microsoft Office (especially
Excel and PowerPoint), are necessary.

literally! LaSalle’s Chicago office is currently located in the Aon
Center at 200 E Randolph, Chicago, IL 60601. We are moving our Global
Headquarters in November 2015, so this individual will be working in our new
space, at 333 West Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60606 soon! This new
location has prime access to all transportation options throughout and into the
city of Chicago. With Union Station, Ogilvie Transportation Center, and
many el train options nearby, this is a very attractive new space for
LaSalle.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Gather, analyze, and interpret macro-economic and financial data
and forecasts
·
Develop and maintain charts summarizing economic and real estate
data and forecasts for regularly updated publications
·
Prepare detailed market analyses for potential acquisitions,
covering real estate supply, demand and rent growth, a property’s positioning
relative to competitors, and local economic trends
·
Forecast supply and demand trends for major property types in
assigned regional economies/MSAs
·
Support the development and dissemination of investment
strategies
·
Contribute to special US and global research projects and white
papers, including the team’s flagship publication: the Investment Strategy
Annual
·
Specific responsibilities will be commensurate with experience
QUALIFICATIONS,
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
·
Bachelor's degree from a leading school in Economics, Urban
Planning, Geography, Real Estate or other social science
·
Master’s Degree in related field is preferred, but not required
·
Excellent writing, analytical, Excel, and Powerpoint skills. GIS
familiarity is a plus, but not required
·
Knowledge of business and financial economics and statistics
·
Prior experience: 2-4 years in a related position. Real estate
research experience is preferred
