Operations Manager Part-Time, Archeworks

Operations Manager (part-time)

Archeworks, a nationally recognized nonprofit design organization located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, seeks an enthusiastic, organized, and highly self-motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Operations Manager. Archeworks offers a dynamic, flexible working environment and the opportunity to be part of a vibrant community of urban changemakers.

Position Summary
Responsible for providing accounting support, maintaining website and social media, and managing IT/knowledge systems to keep the organization functioning at a high level of effectiveness. A key member of a small staff, this person will also assist with office administration and facilities management, and provide support for various programs and development projects as needed.

Qualifications
• Minimum four years experience managing financial reporting for a nonprofit organization. Accounting background and proficiency in QuickBooks.
• Minimum one year experience managing a website and coordinating social media. Proficiency in HTML coding and Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign desired.
• Experience managing IT/knowledge systems.
• Must be self-structuring; able to problem solve and manage projects independently. Ability to work in a small collaborative organization with diverse teams also necessary.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Bookkeeping (40%)
• Manage accounting/bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks general ledger system.
• Prepare financial reports for Archeworks Board of Trustees.
• With Executive Director, prepare for annual audit.

Website and Social Media Management (35%)
• Maintain website using Dreamweaver, adding and creating new content as needed.
• Create and/or coordinate graphic design of all web content and related print materials.
• Manage online outreach including Flicker, Twitter, and Facebook, and Archeworks blog.

IT/Knowledge Management (15%)
• Oversee and manage file sharing and workflow systems/software for students and staff (including Dropbox, box.net, internal server, and Google Docs). Organize and migrate student data to archive on a yearly basis.
• Oversee and maintain server. Manage domain host and server accounts.
• General technology troubleshooting (install software, manage service calls).

Office Administration/Facilities Management (10%)
• Maintain and update contact database.
• Assist with facility maintenance, managing vendors and seeking estimates for service.
• Maintain inventory of office supplies and coordinate orders.

Compensation Range: $16-19/hour
