Assistant Director of African American Studies and Gender and Women's Studies
These two exciting interdisciplinary academic units at the University of Illinois at Chicago seek to jointly hire an Assistant Director to aid in the administration of both departments. This individual will work closely with the executive officers of the units in areas of communication and outreach, development and overall administration. Activities will include coordinating lectures, conferences and public programs and oversight of websites and publications for both units as well as fundraising and grant related activities.
An advanced degree in Gender & Women's Studies, African American Studies or a related field is required. At least 3 years experience in a university setting (or similar institution) is essential. We seek to hire a unique individual with intellectual interests and expertise in both African and African American Studies and Gender and Women's Studies. Candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational, managerial, writing, computer and interpersonal skills,
